Garbage - Version 2.0 The self-titled debut is very close to perfection too.

I'd ask you to marry me if I wasn't already married. ;)

I don't know about rating albums for perfection, as music and the enjoyment thereof is so subjective. However, what I can say for Garbage's albums is that they are all end with a downbeat song that tends to linger (especially "You Look So Fine" on V 2.0). It stays with me emotionally long after it's over, and I think that's a great thing for any album to do.

Excellent. A Garbage fan. Reps.

I own the japanese import of Garbage's self-titled debut album, which includes #1 Crush as the last song, and that song stays with me after I listen to that album. Awesome song. I also own a super rare import single CD with the original version of #1 Crush. Most people know the remix version (the one from the Romeo + Juliet movie soundtrack), but I like the original version much more.

It was a joke regarding "true fans" of Metallica, many of which feel that Metallica ended their career with Master of Puppets and the death of Cliff Burton. The poke was actually not at you.

The Misfits - Static Age

Ramones - Ramones

Live After Death was the shit when I was a teenager. One of the few bands that actually sounded better live than in the studio, and I was lucky enough to see them at the top of their game. "Scream for me Long Beach! Screeeeeeam for me, Long Beach!!!"

Static Age was a much-needed release, because I grew up with Legacy of Brutality, which basically consisted of the original Static Age album remastered by Danzig personally to intentionally overdub and/or otherwise ruin all the guitar tracks because he didn't want the guitarist getting any of the credit. Many of the solos were just dubbed out on purpose (Who Killed Marilyn, for example), and the end result was that the vocals overpowered the guitar, bass, and drums. He did the same thing with 12 Hits From Hell, ruining some of the best songs they ever recorded (Horror Business) and releasing it as Collection I. What a dickhead egomanic. The rest of the band turned out no better, dragging their name through the mud 20 years later with "new material" and joining the WWF. They turned the greatest punk band ever into a pathetic joke.

Ramones speaks for itself. Blitzkrieg Bop has to be one of the best first tracks in punk history. Rocket to Russia was even better, IMO.

I used to agree, now Animals is my favorite. All-time, not just from Floyd.

Ever hear the original Pigs on the Wing? Its Part 1, then a really cool Time/Mother-type guitar solo, then Part 2. Why they didn't release it that way, I have no idea, although I guess it does make a nice intro/outro for the rest of the album.

Have you listened to Still Life or My Arms, Your Hearse? I would get to know them better, it might knock the new ones down a notch ;) They are still incredible, but there's something unstoppable about their first 4.

For my contribution, as someone who is quite (extremely) into metal, Agalloch's The Mantle is definitely near-perfect. For any fan of folk, metal, doom or even some post-(rock,metal,indie,whatever). If you're more into Post, Ashes Against the Grain might be a better introduction. There are dozens of cd's I could list, but Agalloch is the easiest choice to make.
