Horny driver in Toowoomba (yes, Toowoomba) is hero.

You've got to see this to believe it.

I love how she just keeps walking as if that happens to her all the time.
While pedestrians have the right of way in a crosswalk, it is just common sense to at least glance in the direction of on coming traffic to see if a car is coming. I guess one could see this a "blind" faith drivers will stop, a practice where you might end up "dead" wrong.

The Diver should have slowed down.

In MD its the law if someone is at a crosswalk you have to stop.

Ya, pretty common law these days. Regardless, once the driver in the left lane saw the car stopped in the right lane he/she should have slowed down to see why, instead of just driving through like nothing was happening.

I acknowledged that when I said the pedestrian had the right of way..... however it is STUPID to not look for on coming cars that can fuck up your day/life.

Do you cross streets without looking?

*_at_* or *_in_* the crosswalk? NC laws states the pedestrian "within" the crosswalk has the right of way. Standing on the sidewalk/shoulder waiting to cross doe NOT give the pedestrian the right of way.

I was crossing Artesia Blvd after the 91 freeway ends on it in Gardena Calif. (my brother worked there). I had hit the walk button to cross the six-lane street with a wide center divider in my manual wheelchair. You had to go quickly to make it across in time, but a lady in a Mercedes SUV started turning right, which would have blocked the crosswalk, so I waited. She stopped short when she saw me, but seconds had been shaved, so I booked it across the boulevard with all the cars stopped waiting on little old me. As I neared the center divider, a Camry came zooming down it about five feet in front of me, I felt its wind. He apparently didn't realize that the freeway had ended despite the many giant warning signs, flashing lights, and stoplights. Had it not been for that impatient lady in the Mercedes, I would not be typing this now.

Our lives are a gift that can be extinguished at any moment. In the day-to-day, we often take this gift for granted. I love the idea of facing the morning sun each day with, "Today is a good day to die."

To me, this phrase does not embrace death, but merely acknowledges it as an omnipresent possibility, without letting it keep you from fully embracing the wondrous gift of your life, each damn day.

First hint for the guy should've been the stopped car in the right lane. Gee why would a car be stopped in the middle of the road? Idiot blue car. Deserves a punch in the face.

Well yes but that doesn't mean you shouldn't look. I got hit by a driver at a cross walk where I had the right of way. Me being in the right didn't make getting hit by a car hurt less. I was just lucky they weren't going very fast.

Never put your life in others hands. Always look both ways for traffic. Too many idiot drivers to presume your flesh can withstand speeding vehicles.

The driver was oblivious. The pedestrian was oblivious. Bad combination.

Where I live, I can't think of any pedestrian crossings constructed like that in the middle of road, without a stop signal that can be activated by the pedestrian.

It is common sense that one should look when crossing a street, yet beyond the grasp of some that seem to think a law is going to prevent them from becoming road kill.

Yes, should look both ways etc etc......however, if the car had hit her, the Driver would be in deep shit. The Driver bears far more responsibility in this situation.
