nop. cant do it. sorry. cant compare a boat to the feel of a bimmer

Doesn't matter. Lexus already outsells BMW, has better customer service, has better built and more reliable cars with comparable resale value.

Not in Europe they don't! And they have lower resale value here!

I don't see the attraction - they're just Toyota's aimed at the luxurious car sector!

Why the rolling eyes? That is the fact.

So the Audi A8L 6.0 W12 is a really expensive VW?

look up the history of audi and VW. Audi was acquired by VW...not created, like lexus was by toyota.

So, that means absolutely nothing TODAY. Audi's and VW's TODAY share platforms, engines, electrical components, transmissions, suspensions, etc. So if you're gonna say that Lexus is a Toyota, you might as well go ahead and say that an Audi is a VW.

That being said, Audi and VW dealerships and ownership experiences are generally vastly different. Same goes for Toyota and Lexus.

The Lexus IS a toyota in other parts of the world

the lexus brand is created simply for the US market. Toyota is introducing the lexus brand in japan

You make it sound like he didn't know that. He wasn't even arguing that.

his analogy of vw and audi is false

vw and audi were 2 diff car manufactures

Which is why he said this:

Audi's and VW's TODAY share platforms, engines, electrical components, transmissions, suspensions, etc.

Just like what Toyota and Lexus does with their cars right?

yeap.. i said this earlier.

EDIT: too slow for the edit... 😉 😛

ok so my previous statemet was almost true.. 😀😀

only gs and ls have their own chasis..

the GS handles fine, but not as good as the 5 series
the Ls is a boat compared to the 7

but I cant deny the luxury factor of each car! they are amazingly luxurious

yes exactly. noone is denying that lexus makes very luxurious cars. but "fun" is not a selling point in their cars. the lexus buyer and BMW buyer are 2 different niches. lexus buyers care all about luxury and getting from point A to point B as comfortable as possible. BMW buyers care about the journey and having some fun along the way with some luxury thrown in for kicks.

lexus has gotten (bad grammar, i know) very good at what they do...and Im not so sure they can completely switch tracks to win over the bmw buyers.

IMO its better if they stick to their current niche, which is a cheaper/more reliable alternative compared to mercedez bens

Also the IS300 pulls .91 on the skidpads which is no boat.
Give me a fvckign break.
330i cost a whole lot more than the IS300. IF you want to compare the 3 series compare it with the 323 which is around the same price without any options.

you cant really compare apples and apples with cars.

the is is definitely cheaper than the 330, but a lot of comparisons is made between the two cars.

toyota designed the car solely to compete with the 3 seriies (albeit they made it cheaper)

since BMW doesn't make the 323i anymore if lexus wants to take away marketshare from BMW

they are marketing at people that would buy a 325i or 330i

Exactly, it was made to compete with the 3 series, but everyoen knows that the 330 is more expensive and it has better amenities. Can you compare the IS300 to the M3 ? It's a 3 series isn't it ?
The IS300 was marketed to target the 3 series in general, but it really compares with the 323's performance number wise, price wise.
Lexus didn't come out with different models for the IS300 like BMW did with the 323, 330, m3. They're probably due out soon tho.
