The GS looks absolutely nothing like an Altima. In fact do you know who designed the GS? It was designed by none other than Giugiaro.

As for the suspension, the GS is meant to be luxury sport sedan, not a performance sedan. While it does not handle as well as BMWs, the suspension is perfect for its purpose as a luxury sport sedan. It does not handle like a boat as you seem to insinuate.

I completely disagree with your opinion of the instrument cluster too. The Altima came out a lot later than the GS and does not even have the same lighting as the GS. My wife and I love the instriument cluster and I recall it being a signature feature of the car when it came out.

GS300!=Altima 2.5

GS430!=Altima 3.5

UGH, I think any model below the LS430 drives like a boat. For example when we had to send in our 1994 LS400 for repair at the lexus dealer, they gave us a ES300 and was horrible! Uncomfortable interior, narrow body, and crampted inside not to mention the poor acceleration. The ES330 is a Toyota Camry with a lexus logo UGH! When you accelerate in the car, you could feel the front tires spinning, giving the car a nice jiggling ride when you accelerated. Even my mother noticed this problem and we didn't even know the car was FF until I read the manual. We purchased the 430 after the '94 LS400's 10th anniversary because the car was starting to show age. We still have the car which runs great but it' now used for my little sister to practice for the driving test.

What do you mean you could feel the front tires spinning?

From what he wrote, his mom supposedly spins the front tires everytime she accelerates. Thus making it drive like a boat.

Ah, k, didn't realize luxury sedans were used for performance acceleration to the next stop light...

Yeah me either. 😕 His mom must have a heavy foot.

The sad thing is, she DOESN'T have a heavy foot. She accelerates at a reasonable rate and it would do this especially when wet, the harder you accelerate the worse it was. It was just simply a peice of crap and one she will never drive agian. I think we have high standards because once you drive an LS model, you will never go back! The LS400 converted my dad who used to drive the 2003 Volvo S40 (Meant as a gift for little sister in college) but now drives it because he realized what a smoother/more control type of ride. The Lexus LS series is a car meant for the beginner and the expert driver, it's good for people who want control but at the same time dont want to deal with complicated settings ie a very intuitive interface (Includes all).

Good God, I can't believe it! It's meant to be form over function!

<<Hopes this craziness doesn't reach Europe>>

Seriously though! Wouldn't you guys prefer a nice Jaguar or BMW instead of a Lexus on your drive? .

Jaguar = FORD!!! seriously now. How can you bring a Ford into this conversation?

So Mercedes = Dodge? And the Acura NSX = The Civic? You're an idiot.

X-type. Enough said.
