When given the chance, ergo, you don't drive. But we all know that you're fifteen anyways.

Either he's a teenager or he's pretty sad. He's admitted that the cars he talks about are his family members, not his. I wonder if his family lets him near their cars.

One wonders what evidence fleabag would accept if he wont trust manufacturer's recommendations. I mean you could say anything and he would argue it.

I've been in the car business for the last 23 years. Years ago I used to argue until I was red in the face about crap like this when car related posts were in the OT forum. It got to the point where people just didn't believe what I do for a living or something. Since The Garage started I haven't gone in there once. I could only imagine the rampant ignorance, and this guy just reaffirmed it for me.

Tell me he's a regular poster in The Garage.

What the hell are you talking about? R134a isn't flammable unless you try pretty hard to make it burn. It needs to be under high pressure and in the presence of oxygen. As soon as it leaks out of the system it's at too low of a pressure to burn.

MSSD for R134a
(http://ww2.ramapo.edu/libfiles/HR/Environmental_Health_and_Safety/MSDS/Facilities/HVAC/134a.pdf)

R420 is an 88% mix of R134a (not flammable) and 12% of R142 (flammable). There's a reason why the R142 is diluted and you don't see it used in places where it's likely to be a problem.

If heat were applied to the lines or whatnot. Anyway point was, you can use propane just fine for a refrigerant and the flammability issue is pretty moot considering there is gasoline in the near vicinity in an engine bay. I brought up R134a because he mentioned CFCs and when I thought of them, I thought of refrigerants like R12, R134a, etc.

Let's just put it this way, when given the chance I inflate tires to sidewall and I've seen no ill effects because of it and eventually find the very opposite.

Kid, you can't compare your tricycle to an automobile. They are not the same.
