My first impressions are up at my blog (sig). One thing I forgot to touch on is the fact that I've had the game FPS drop considerably, randomly, and it won't fix until I restart my computer :( Sucks. Also, I think I should be able to run it at higher settings that I can now, but the graphics are still pretty good on medium.

Anyone here got a spare invite key so I can try out the game for 7 days? :)

those aren't available yet..they dont want to over burden the servers yet

Or they want people to shell out $50 to try the game. I think its more along the lines they are trying to recoup as much money as they can at the moment. The servers are fine, thats the one thing they have going for them.

 Which MMORPG's had free trial accounts at launch?

WoW did.

No, actually, they didn't. People have some serious rose colored glasses on when it comes to WoW.

Warcraft offered 10-day trials through magazines, but not until the game had been out for quite a while. Collector's Edition boxes also came with a 10-day trial disc that you could give to a friend - but not the regular boxes.

Due to tons of abuse of these free trials, such accounts are now restricted to level 19 and cannot perform some functions, such as trading and using the mail.

There are are memory leak issues with the game client. Funcom is working on them.

I hate being level 50 without these skills, hahaha.

You just need to go to one of the resource zones (Lacheish Plains, Poitain, or Purple Lotus Swamp) and pick up the gathering quests. You can learn gathering skills at level 20, crafting skills at level 40, so you're fine with both. Apparently the actual crafting skills are still fairly incomplete, so I haven't bothered with those yet myself. Considered it, but I'm having too much fun grinding exp, and playing on a PvP server provides that extra bit of incentive you need to level quickly.

yup, I am on a pvp as well, and the places to gather materials are pretty PVP fun...as in people are ganking for them, which could be fun at a semi higher level!

Specifically where are these quests??

I've only done it in Lacheish Plains, but the quests come from the village towards the SE corner of the zone. It sits on the lake and there are a few different quests to drop stuff off there that you get at early levels.

As far as the PvP goes, I think the resource zones are going to end up being incredibly fun PvP. The resources all regenerate quite a bit faster there, so I think people will end up spending a lot of time gathering. And lots of competition for limited resources should make for a whole bunch of fun.

Does anyone know a good site to look up combos/spells? I haven't been able to find any with an accurate or complete list so far.

This is the best I've run into so far. Has all the spells and abilities, along with a nice feat calculator. I have yet to see any sites with comprehensive listings of quests and/or gear, but from what I've seen so far Hybes seems like the best bet for becoming the Wowhead of AoC.

This is really only for those who have played the game and have respectively gotten past the first 20 levels. I personally love the gore and atmosphere, it doesn't feel like a kiddy MMO. The combat always keeps me in the game with its combo system and gruesome fatalities.

I think gamerankings.com rating is spot on at 87%. The game isn't flawless but neither is any MMO at launch. I'm just thankful that there is now a game that is worth taking some of the market share away from WoW. Its becoming difficult for developers to profit in this field and I think thats why we dont see many qualities titles.

I guess what I want to see next from Funcom is more group oriented content, more high level content, bug fixes and a bigger weapons database.

This is for the retail version. I see many changes and differences with each version not to mention stability and other factors that come into play when launching an MMO.

Well I fail to see the difference, but do what you must.

3 days into the game and already feeling a bit burned out... All the hacking seems to be a little repetitive, however every combat is engaging as u need a good deal of concentration on the combos.

Combat side, it's more guildwars than WoW. The size of the world isn't as big as some people would mention, however it is more complex than WoW's world, which you could ride most of the part without even looking.

The ganking is kind of tiring in the morning hours, losers could be seen hiding on the side of a path just to gank starting newbies heading out cornell villege. Group up and kick some ass!

Overall a positive experience, groups are easily to be made(for this alone I like it much, much more that GW), players are usually mature, I traded insult with only one person and that seem to end reasonabily. I even made a friend who ganked me because we had such a close battle.
