It appears the Phelps family may have some kindred souls in Florida.

Christianity - the true Religion of Hate...

YA right. How many true christians became christians because a knife was held to their throats . That does not make them christian . Being baptized as a christian when a baby does not a christian make. The HRCC is not a christian religion thats a lie they spread they are sun worshipers .

They break commandments in Christ name . Keep holy the sabbath . Most all chtistian serve ROME THE true words are Keep holy the lords day. The DAY OF REST. Its not a week day as you all are about to find out. They worship graven images and idols .

I doubt very much you have ever meet a christian , To be christian and live in todays world is ALMOST impossiable. The Moslems worship a rock The jews a wall. None follow the commandments not 1.

General Petraeus weighs in:
The U.S. commander in Afghanistan on Monday criticized a Florida church's plan to burn copies of the Quran on September 11, warning the demonstration "could cause significant problems" for American troops overseas.
"It could endanger troops and it could endanger the overall effort in Afghanistan," Gen. David Petraeus said in a statement issued Monday.
The Dove World Outreach Center's "Islam is of the Devil" message and Qu'ran burning are perfect Taliban propaganda.

Know your place general. It is not for you to tell the American people what they can or cannot do.

If our freedoms are an affront to the lives of your men, then either kill our enemy or GTFO of their land. If our President affords you neither option, then your duty to the lives of your men is to refuse those orders. Will you put your men before your career?

Why would this make me feel sorry for the Islamic Jihadists who have declared war on Western civilization and the so called "moderates" Muslims who stand by idly doing nothing but holding their hands in their pockets?
It shouldn't make you feel sorry for the Islamic Jihadists. Their lives are being made easier by this act of stupidity. Al Qaeda's just going to drop clips of this on YouTube and say that this is proof that all of America hates Islam.

This should make you feel sorry for the additional American and NATO and innocent lives that will be lost when dozens of suicide bombers are recruited out of this "made for TV protest".

1st amendment in action here. You don't have to like what's being said, or agree with what's being said. You have to respect their right to say it, as they should respect your right to state your beliefs however you feel. If there was a bible burning, I'm guessing it would have a major shitstorm surrounding it.

These nutjobs, phelps as well, will always poke their heads out, cause a big nothing and go back in their hole. Every once in a while you get a Jonestown issue, but those are very far and few between. If they choose to do this stupid, ignorant act on 9/11 in memory of those lost and a celebration of freedom (ironic ain't it?) so be it. You reap what you sow.

as represented by a 50 member church...
...and the Westboro Baptist Church, General "My God is Bigger" Boykin, Eric Robert Rudolph, the Aryan Nations, the Church of Jesus Christ - Christian, Kingdom Identity Ministries...

FWIW, my quoted comment was pure hyperbole. All religions have their irrational and extreme elements; Dove World Outreach Center exemplifies the intolerance of some Christian supremacists.

That's what you amount to, calling people names and Nazis?

Of course you would completely disregard the difference in literature. The difference in state mandate VS a free people protesting our enemy. Let the Quran burn, and let it reveal people's true loyalties.

The Qur'an is not your enemy. You are your enemy.
What can we burn to prove that?

I thought when we restricted our own freedoms the terrorists win.
General Petraeus is not attempting to restrict the freedom of the Dove World Outreach Center to do any stupid hateful thing that it wants to do; he is exercising his own freedom to inform the Center that this action may endanger the lives of his troops and that it does provide aid to our enemies.

Petraeus was right in saying that stupidity like this will impede the mission. It's like telling a five year old to be the bigger man, their (and others in this thread) IQ isn't high enough to comprehend logic. Now let's see if the children listen to their parents.

Oh, a Nazi reference followed by a personal attack. Well played, sir.

The Nazis also had German Shepards. So what?

The point is private citizens can burn fairy-tale literature, (or any literature for that matter). If US muslims have an issue with that, they can burn Bibles all they want as well. I see no problem with that.

If radicals in other countries have issues with it, why would I give a damn? They do not understand our constitution, and I don't expect them to.
