it invites Christians to burn the Muslim holy book
I cannot even express how stupidly retarded those people are.

They are acting IN THE EXACT SAME WAY as muslims "hating all americans".

Symbolic burning of the Quran...my a$$. The last i checked (and lets leave all CONSPIRACY theories aside for a change :) ) it was muslim TERRORISTS/Extremists with Al Queda links attacking the states on 9/11, not "every muslim".

Retarded idiots.

I was referring to the masses who get upset everytime someone says or does something they don't like about their religion. The wealthy and educated carry out their "big plan."

Well my point still stands - Muslims are not attacking us for any supposed socio-economic malady fact is many terrorists come from the Muslim’s world’s best, brightest, and most devout.

I could go into why they are attacking from scripture to going into Muslim countries to supporting despots to defacing their Prophet but poverty is not one of them. Its just a huge myth by the elite who refuse to kill en mass or leave them alone.

What you say here I just found to be some what true, I got to reading some of the info Nemesis has on his Computers. I came across this. But its really not fairy tells. The part about us being created that is . But who was that creator .

I figured you would like this . I didn't copy everthing as Some of it could endanger lives and I want no part of that.
Dead sea Scrolls
In 1952 a team of scholars was appointed to piece together and decipher this wealth of material. But, instead of disseminating it to the world, these men withheld it, publishing only skeleton portions.

In autumn of 1991 this monopoly was broken by the Huntington's Library in California. The library announced that it would release photographs of the scrolls, which it had secured from authorities at the time of the 1967 six day war. They had argued that at such an unstable time the scrolls could be in jeopardy of destruction and that photograph copies should be held in America for safe-keeping.

The series of scholars, Catholics and Jewish, who previously had held exclusive control over the scrolls, long maintained that there was nothing of interest in the unreleased materials. They said that no light would be shed on the early days of Christianity. They were wrong.

One portion, numbered 40266, is titled by Eisenman and Wise, "The Foundation of Righteousness (The End of the Damascus Document: An excommunication text)."

It appears to be the excommunication of Paul from the Christian Community. The document was prepared for a convocation of the followers of Christ at the time of the Pentecost, "to curse those who depart to the right (or to the left) of the Torah," that is, the law of Moses.

The scroll fragments praise God. "You are all, everything is in your hand and (You are) the maker of everything, who established the peoples according to their families and their national languages."

They praise God and speak of the maryadas or "boundary markers laid down for us." Those who over-step these boundaries are those whose "soul has rejected the Foundations of Righteousness."

Paul was such a man. Elsewhere he is described as "the Lying adversary," and the "Lying Spouter" who "rejects the law in the midst of the whole congregation", "the Tongue" and the "Scoffer/Comedian" who "poured over Israel the waters of lying."

The authors of the book believe that "the priest commanding the Many" who delivers this excommunication judgement was James, the apostle often referred to as James the Just, the bishop of Jerusalem and the brother of Jesus.

In twisted logic involving blessing and cursing, Paul defends himself in his letters to the Galatians (3:11-13). Paul argues that he is redeemed in his transgressions against the teachings of Jesus, because Christ himself became cursed by the law . Paul is confusing the law of Moses with the law of the Romans and his own law.

In the Acts of the Apostles Paul writes of hurrying off to Jerusalem to be on time for an annual Pentecostal meeting as described in the scrolls. Eisenman and Wise state that "the Acts' picture of the Pentecost can be seen as the mirror reversal of the Pentecost being pictured here." Rather than taking his contribution to Jerusalem Paul was actually about to face excommunication from the community he sought to control.

The authors conclude saying, "The implications are quite startling and far-reaching. One thing is sure: one has in these texts a better exposition of what was really going on in 'the wilderness' in these times so pivotal for Western civilisation, than in any other parallel accounts."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The following two excerpts from an earlier book, "The Dead Sea Scrolls Deception" also raise doubts as to the legitimacy of Paul's role within the early church:

by Michael Bajgent and Richard Leigh (Corgi Books, London, 1991)
"... Paul is in effect the first Christian heretic, and his teachings, which become the foundation of later Christianity, are a flagrant deviation from the 'Original' or 'pure' form extolled by the leadership. Whether James, the 'Lord's brother,' was literally Jesus' blood kin or not (and everything suggests he was), it is clear that he knew Jesus...personally. So did most of the other members of the community or 'early Church,' in Jerusalem, including of course, Peter. When they spoke, they did so with first hand authority. Paul had never had such personal aquaintance with the figure he'd begun to regard as his 'Saviour.' He had only his quasi-mystical experience in the desert and the sound of a disembodied voice. For him to arrogate authority to himself on this basis is, to say the least, presumptuous. It also leads him to distort Jesus' teachings beyond recognition, to formulate, in fact, his own highly individual and idiosyncratic theology, and then to legitimise it by spuriously ascribing it to Jesus."

"As things transpired, however, the mainstream of the new movement gradually coalesced, during the next theree centuries, around Paul and his teachings. Thus, to the undoubted posthumous horror of James and his associates, an entirely new religion was indeed born, a religion that came to have less and less to do with its supposed founder."

I don't have clue who wrote this Nemesis or someone else.

I guess it will be 'take a steaming dump on a bible day' for me. As crazy as alot of people are for killing/banning/labeling as terrorists all muslims, I wonder if in the late 1400's people thought about christians the same way.
They didn't give a second thought of killing someone who wouldn't change their ways and become christian.
Yes, I do realize that we are over half a millennium past those days, but are we really? What's so different? Muslim terrorists comprise such a minimal amount of muslim worshipers it's pathetic to say if you're a muslim, you're a terrorist.

Indonesian Muslims Protest Plans to Burn Quran
Link
JAKARTA, Indonesia — Thousands of Indonesian Muslims are rallying outside the U.S. Embassy in Jakarta to denounce a Florida church's plan to burn copies of the Quran on Sept. 11.

The Dove World Outreach Center in Gainesville, Fla., said it will burn the Islamic holy book on the ninth anniversary of the terror attacks. Local officials have denied a permit for the bonfire on the church's grounds. But the center, which made headlines last year by distributing T-shirts that said "Islam is of the Devil,'' insists it will go ahead with the plan.

About 3,000 members of a hard-line Islamic group marched Saturday to the U.S. Embassy in downtown Jakarta, waving banners and posters condemning the plan. The group organized similar rallies in five other cities across Indonesia, the world's largest Muslim nation.

These users' comments sum up the way I feel.
Burning Korans is kinda like building a mosque at Ground Zero-- it's their "constitutional right."

See? Both sides can play that stupid game.

Now let's talk about what's appropriate and inappropriate

and this one

If the American Flag can be burned then so should the Quran.

This is one of those topic which there isn't much to say, but people are going to say it anyway :p

Oh well, might as well play along.

Most Muslims don't want to blow you up. Most of them want to worship peacefully and go about their daily business.

Most Christians don't want to force you to be in church or blow you up either. Like the Muslims they just go about their business in a non violent way.

Most Atheists/Agnostics don't want to do anything other than live their lives and that's it. They aren't crying in their coffee about evil religion or anything else. They have too much to do and like the above two groups just shake their heads when something dumb happens.

That's how the world works folks. It's a few who wreck it for others.

Yet again stating the obvious, but let's face it that would be boring. Stir the pot.

I think the reason this is usually ignored is because while most people in a group don't want to be violent, most people DO like the idea that people outside their group are not as good as people inside the group. That's why anti-Muslim viewpoints become relatively widespread among non-Muslims, and same for anti-anything else points of view. It's the same stupid tribal bullshit that's held humanity back since we climbed down out the trees.

I remember when book burning used to be frowned upon in the US.
Now every other poster wants to talk about suicide bombers.

Recycle a Quran would be better.

And lol at posters who are always ready to dump on Christians but bend over backwards to defend Muslims. Be consistent. It's not that hard.

I feel like there are plenty of people who do it the other way around that you don't get your panties in a twist about...

But that said, it's a bad comparison...nobody is attacking Christians in this country the same way people attack Muslims.

I don't expect any better from Christians who only attack Islam but don't concede issues with their own religion. They are religious after all so they can't be expected to be reasonable. However, that doesn't excuse the non-religious posters who claim to be open-minded but have the bash Christianity but not Islam double-standard.

Now there's an ironic name for this Christian group.

Are there a lot of posters who "bash Christianity" the same way people bash Islam? Because for all the talk about that, saying pretty much what you're saying, I don't really see it happening.

You're probably feel the Islam-bashing is more pronounced more because of your own bias to defend Muslims. I criticize Christianity but that doesn't tend to trigger backlash from liberal posters. Sometimes some conservatives respond but it doesn't trigger the flood like criticizing Islam does. But when I criticize Islam, that triggers a flood of responses from liberal posters. I respond to those posts which tends to reinforce the perception that I'm bashing Islam more.

People who call themselves Christians have brought much of the hate onto themselves especially the do as I say not as I do bunch, but there is some truth to your statement.

koran_bible_toilet.jpg

Looks like a joke right,

Student Arrested in Koran-in-Toilet Incidents at Pace U.
A 23-year-old man just a few credits short of a degree from Pace University was arrested on Friday for allegedly desecrating the Koran by throwing copies of the Muslim scripture into toilets at the university’s Manhattan campus last fall, the New York Daily News reported.
The man, Stanislav Shmulevich, was detained after New York police officers found him on a surveillance photograph leaving a room where the holy books are kept. Mr. Shmulevich, a Ukrainian immigrant who works at a European banking firm and who a roommate says took “a break” from his Pace studies, will face hate-crime charges for criminal mischief and aggravated harassment when he is arraigned. —Andrew Mytelka
It would have been very interesting if he had the ability to fight all the way to the supreme court but alas he ended up pleading to disorderly conduct charges and hate crime charges were dropped.

If he was smart instead of taking someone else's Quran and putting it in the toilet he should have followed the example of these college kids and handed out pornography if people would give him their Qurans, who knows, Pace University might have even supported him.:D

http://www.mysanantonio.com/news/Bibles_for_porn_stunt_draws_crowd_at_UTSA.html

Carlos Morales, president of the Atheist Agenda, debates religion with fellow students at UTSA's Sombrilla Plaza. The club hosted an event called "Smut for Smut," encouraging students to pick up a pornographic magazine in exchange for a Bible or other religious text, which members say are filled with examples of violence and torture. Melissa Ludwig/Express-News
Tired of that old Bible or Quran?Members of the Atheist Agenda, a student organization at the University of Texas at San Antonio, are encouraging students to trade in religious texts for pornography this week with their “Smut for Smut” campaign.
In the view of club members, religious texts are as smutty as pornography because they contain violence and torture and spark religious wars. But mostly, it's a public relations stunt meant to ignite debate and attract new members to the club.
As in the past, this year's campaign did not disappoint, drawing hundreds to UTSA's Sombrilla Plaza on Monday to either cheer, protest or inquire about the event and to debate the role of religion in society.
“It's a First Amendment right,” said Bradley Lewis, 18, a freshman from Pear-land who said he plans to join the Atheist Agenda. “If religious groups can put out missionaries and go knock on my door and wake me up at 7 a.m. on a Saturday morning, I can put a table outside of the college.”
Robin Lorkovic, 18, a freshman from Houston, disagreed. Lorkovic stood near the “Smut for Smut” table holding a cardboard sign that said “God Loves You! Keep your Bible and learn from it!”
“I don't really feel like that is appropriate at all,” Lorkovic said. “I am a Christian. I believe in God's love, and I am here to stand my ground and stand up for what I believe in.”
The Atheist Agenda started at UTSA in 2005, and the group's first “Smut for Smut” campaign blew up into a national media sensation. Past President Thomas Jackson was deluged with interview requests, and he debated Tucker Carlson, the bow-tie-wearing conservative pundit, on MSNBC.
This year, organizers said a group of Christians amassed to protest the event, and one protester ripped a sign from someone's hands. But police kept a watchful gaze over students involved in heated debates and did not report any violence.
“This is ultimately why this is going on,” Lewis said. “It's an icebreaker to get people talking about these things.”

Those poor sad christians, maybe next time instead of protesting they should go on a massive rioting, building burning campaign or at the very least try to go after the offenders in court even if they can't win, the threat of burdensome legal expenses would keep most from desecrating their holy books.
