I think that is what is bothering most people. That he posted this thread instead of takeing it to PM.

It seems to me he is doing this publicly to discredit and ruin the reputation of Gottadeal and the poeple running it.

personally i feel that if it is his ad (ok its not his but he did scan it.oops no he didnt do that. well anyway) he should at least get some credit for having a friend send it to him.

but again this should have been in PM!

This is my only message regarding this matter:

1. I received an e-mail regarding the ads from one of our visitors - not from the OP's site.
2. I uploaded the ads to our server and added our watermark in case others would hotlink the images - I was willing to trade our resources for a little advertising
3. I never claimed they were our own or that we had the actual physical advertisements.

I could go on and on about things the OP has done with previous ads, but I am going to be the better man and leave it at that. I have removed the ads from the site and from now on we are no longer going to post any scanned ads unless they are sent directly to us by the person with the physical ad.

We will continue adding sale ad items to our database. It's not worth my time dealing with matters as insignificant as this. The entire BF ad thing has gotten out of control this year with all the sites (just visit FW, where 3 or 4 people were taking credit for the Sears ad that I typed up and posted myself) I'm actually kind of hoping the retailers send their lawyers for all of us, lol.

So that's it from me. I posted a similar message on our forum as well. I aplogize for any inconvenience this may have caused our loyal visitors.

My whole thing was how you got on my ass for hosting your ads, but then went out and used my ads and erased my watermark.

Agreed. I could understand asking for a public opinion on a situation (though, in this case, the original issue seems very trivial) after nearly all methods of communications and concessions had been exhausted, but it seems fairly obvious no attempt at such was made prior to publically airing this issue.

Unfortunately, this thread and the statements and accusations contained herein has displayed some very unprofessional actons by MrCodeDude. It's quite disappointing.

Hopefully the mods will lock his SPAM thread in the Hot Deals forum.

If Brad or I had posted an "official Black Friday" thread we would just listed the text ads so everyone can enjoy them instead of forcing people to visit our site.

Principle? YOu got this SENT to you. YOU didn't take the picture let alone scan it in. But ok ok. IF Gottadeal had known it was yours they should have given you guys some credit.
