Isn't it basically what happened?

He was basically given a picture, watermarked it and hosted it. Someone else then removed his mark and added their own, basically taking credit for the picture.

I have as much respect for RossMAN as most on here, but its not right.
If it's wrong that Ross did it, isn't it also wrong that the OP did it?

IMHO, next time put your watermark ALL OVER the images, both "Hard" and "soft" ones, give'em the "Watermark Chickenpox"

Bunch of MoFo thieves ...

We still don't know what happened. What if someone else took the images and removed the watermark, then sent it in to gottadeal? A lot of possibilites.

I think I would have handled it differently if I were you, as in keeping in in PMs *unless* this has happened many times in the past.
However, it is kind of lame to take something that does not belong to you and alter it to claim it as your own.

Yep. That's why I rolled my eyes. He should have asked Ross where he got the ad before making an accusation.

OMG HE STOLEDED YOUR SCAN OF AN AD THAT WAS TOTALLY YOUR ORIGINAL ARTWORK AND THUS COPYRIGHTABLE SUE SUE SUE!!!!!!!!1111111111111
I wouldn't have cared if they left the water-mark in-tact, but is there anything I can do? I know RossMAN is a good man, and I wouldn't want something like this to damage his reputation, but I think ATers should know of GottaDeal's business practices. Is there anything I can do on my end?
LOL! Yes, I will surely never shop at GottaDeal again.

If it was your picture taht you took and have all rights to then yeah i can see being really upset and going about it the way you are. BUT this is an ade you do not own.

this should be handled in /msg not like this.

This is childish, why did you have to make a thread about this instead of contacting rossman himself. All you are trying to do is ruin gottadeals image.

Also all you did was scan the image in and put your water mark on it. You in no way own the image just because you put a watermark on it.

The site: RossMAN's own, GottaDeal.com

Frequenters of the Hot Deals forums know that both me and Gottadeal run BF2004 sites, there has been a bit of rivalry, but it's all in good fun, or so I thought.

This has to do with the recently released Radio Shack images. I received the ads from a guy who emailed me. I added the BF2004.net watermark and uploaded them to my site.

Here is Page 3 (the last page) of the ad w/ my watermark: text
THE WATERMARK IS BELOW THE STEREO AND TO THE RIGHT

Here is GottaDeal's ad w/ my watermark gone, theirs inserted: text

Yes, there is a possibility that the same guy who emailed me also emailed them. In fact, Brad Olson posted this in this thread
And thanks to the AT'er that also e-mailed us the RS ad - we appreciate it.

But I figured I should double check, especially since I left their watermark in-tact when I mirrored their Sears ads.

So I looked at the graphic the guy sent me (undoctored, no watermark, located here)

Look at where my watermark was, you'll notice that a small star burst is missing from GottaDeal's ad that is present in the original image. Meaning they did not receive the ad, they took mine, doctored it, and claimed it as their own.

Seriously, I'm interested to see what evidence you have that they did this. It seems to me you jumped to a conclusion by posting this thread to damage gottadeal's reputation .

I want to know why you all think it's appropriate to do this.
what I think is... if you produced the image from scratch and they did this, then it is a big deal. This is a simple shortcut they took and as unethical as it is, I would say it's not a big deal. Again, if you worked hard at creating an image, then I'd raise hell.

Wow dude, grow up.

Theres a neat little thing called a PM, use it.

I think most of us would raise hell in that situation.

That sucks, but I would have emailed them first about it instead of posting on a message board. It's a pretty bad practice on both of your parts.

You. are. blind.

Do you see my watermark? It says bf2004.net in white text with a black outline. When you see that, remember the location.

Now look at the original scan. You will notice where I put my watermark, the background is big star, little star, big star, little star.

Look @ GottaDeal's image, their background goes big star, blank, big star, little star.

If they truely had received the true scans from the same source as I, there would be a little star between the two big stars.
