Yeah Im pretty sure condoms can be used by everyone.

No, they can not. Some women are allergic to latex, others to spermicide.

Even if what you said is true and every woman could use condoms, what is wrong with allowing options?

And obviously you have never read the ACA which forced men to subsidize the health insurance for "independent" women.

Stupid health care making me pay for people that have Diabetus even though I don't have diabetus. Stupid health care for making me pay for cancer though I don't have cancer. Stupid health care for making me pay for pap smears though I don't have paps.

And don't forget how BC is treated as a privileged class of medication that must be available without co-pay.

Like all medicine, some is available without co-pay, other is available with a co-pay. It depends on the medicine and the insurance policy.

Wow... you don't know anything about what you're talking about, do you? Maybe it'd be a good time to educate yourself. There is a lot of helpful information on the internet.

Its not like there are not a gazillion different kinds of condoms huh

And what is wrong with expecting people to pay for their own?

Except the difference is you MIGHT get cancer or Diabetes.

You won't grow a cervix.

And which kinds does the Federal Government mandate be free?

I am not the one implying men might grow a cervix...

So first it's women's birth control and now it's condoms. Here's what you originally stated in post #92:
And contraceptives are available at many fine retailers. What they want is to force men to purchase contraceptives for "independent" women they are not having sex with.
So which is it. Reproductive health needs for women or condoms?

Also, birth control pills aren't just about not getting pregnant. Ask an Ob-Gyn; I'm sure she'd love to explain the facts of birth control pills and how/why they're used to you.

Oh I've heard of the ACA. Once again, force not found. The choice by you to see it as force speaks to and reinforces your misogynistic views.

Last time I check condoms were considered birth control.

And the fact they can be used for things other than BC justifies them being privileged how?

And did you happen to read it after it was passed :p

Why are you turning this into a Liberal vs Conservative fight when its an issue of women's productive rights vs old men that don't know anything?

Not everything falls in the conservative vs liberal debate.

Hint, women also use bc pills to control menstruation, cramping or irregular cycles. If you've ever lived with a woman long enough to understand this, you wouldn't begrudge them this for all the shit they have to go through.

Like I asked; are we talking about women's reproductive health needs or condoms? Ignoring what you originally posted doesn't make it go away. And as kia75 pointed out, some women are allergic to latex and some to the spermicide coating.

Also, you replied to kia75 "Its not like there are not a gazillion different kinds of condoms huh". A gazillion? I think even you can come up with a better estimate than that.

He said he misspoke.

If you don't like him then don't vote for him. There, that was easy.

Thankfully, no Democrat has ever said anything so stupid as this.

He certainly "misspoke" with conviction! He convinced me he knew what he was talking about :)

his "mispoke" showed a complete lack of fact, compassion, and consideration for women that are "legitimately" raped

as opposed to women that are "illegitimately" raped.

whatever that means...

Edit: Now Mitch McConnell is asking the rep to "explore his options" relative to running for Senate. The GOP is trying to put this guy 12 feet underground before any more damage is caused!

This is the reason why I enjoy national election seasons...soo many kooky characters crawl out of the woodwork for elections. :)

His statement is insane, but what's more troubling is that there are actually people in this thread that aren't denouncing him. This is the kind of stupid that should bring everyone together to say "WTF?"

He might lose the rapist vote if he starts questioning their legitimacy. "You didn't rape that."

GOP is trying hard to flush.
National Republican Senatorial Committee Chairman John Cornyn (R-Tex.) informed Rep. Todd Akin on Monday that the national GOP will not spend money to help elect him to the Senate after Akin’s controversial comments about “legitimate rape,” according to an NRSC aide.

Cornyn also told Akin that, by staying in the race, he is endangering Republicans’ hopes of retaking the majority in the Senate, the aide said.

And this differs from how Liberals treat men how?

According to liberals women should be able to have sex with whomever she pleases without fear of having to be a mother.

But if a woman CHOOSES to be a mother she has to the power to force a man to be responsible for her choice.

So why would any man vote democrat?

What?

I do not remember any laws controlling proposed by a Democrat that does what you claim.
Or maybe you are trying to compare apples and oranges

Why would a man or anyone vote Democrat? I will give a three or four reasons:
1. A need to turn away from Reagan and George W Bush's foreign and domestic policies.
2. To stop the GOP's agenda to shift the tax burden from the wealthiest onto the poor, and the middle and working classes.
3. To stop the GOP's Southern Strategy
4. To stop GOP's efforts to put their Libertarian fantasies into law.

Unless you are wealthy and you vote GOP, you are voting against your own best interest.

The gentleman in question was on Hannity a few hours ago and even Hannity was trying to get him to drop out. The entire Republican party is about to come crashing down on this dude and rightly so.

Yet another example of why I'm a proud libertarian.

So you are not aware of child support laws?

And how Democrats worship the right of women to have a choice about being a parent, but do not extend the same right to men?

Have you been living in a bomb shelter since the 1960s?

Condoms are contraceptives.

Good things some condoms are made of Polyurethane and do not had a spermicide then huh.

Fine, a search on walmart.com turned up 105 hits. I am sure there is a condom for everyone!

I'm not sure which is more ridiculous, what he said, or people trying to act like this thinking is mainstream in the GOP.

all of those are either insurable events or work that potentially prevents insurable events. birth control as birth control is not an insurable event.

Wow, you really are clueless.

1) Condoms' only use is to prevent pregnancy
2) Hormonal BC pills have many uses outside of preventing pregnancy
3) Condoms are available over the counter
4) Hormonal BC is available only by perscription (a "barrier to entry" if you will)
5) Not every woman can use condoms (see: reaction to spermicide or latex)
6) Not every woman can use the cheapest BC available (drug interactions, side effects, etc.)

So, have you considered all of that yet? Good. Now how about you stop being a good little mysoginist and allow women and their doctors to make the best decisions about their health without you and your misguided beliefs getting in the way. Sexual/Reproductive health is an important subset of overall health. Men do not have the same equipment or issues regarding sexual/reproductive health, and you complain about things not being 100% equal. No sh*t. Men and women are different in that sphere. As they say, "thems the ropes".

He can't stop. He wants so bad to have been born a woman that he's taking out his rage and disappointment on them. He so wanted to get in on the menstrual cycle, the lower center of gravity, and the absolute control he could've had over men just by altering his boob size or choosing a higher heel shoe which would increase his wobble as he walked. Not too mention all the free health care, pap smears and that cold chill-thrill from the stainless steel speculum.
