I got mine in, but haven't had a chance to use it yet, probably won't until Friday evening (too tired last night, LAN gaming tonight).

I've purchased other refurbs before that were just the card in a white box, and yes I have received bad refurb parts, but I have my fingers crossed on this one. The heatsinks is f'ggn HUGE! OMG, I thought my GF4Ti with a Zalman heatsink was heavy. I just hope the fan is quiet. I have high hopes for this card since I just sold my only other 6800GT (Evga) for $280 - made $69 just for switching cards, like taking candy from babies.

Well, actually I did a friend a favor because he needed a card right away and mine was bought new and nobody else had owned it, and I sold it to him for less than the cost of a new one before I found out about this deal. I already have too many video cards and was just gonna live with a lesser card for a while until the 7000 series comes out... just kinda lucked out to find this deal.

BTW, my card looks brand new. It came in the retail box with the software bundle and everything.

My card turned out to be DOA. :( Visual glitches all over screen as soon as the system POSTs.

Mine was DOA as well. I was expecting as much. As far as the Egg- they are out of the loop as far as how I'm handling mine. There are no more to swap for, and the new ones are $289 on auto-notify. Mine is going to Leadtek on Monday.

I'm not sure about that one. I've had to RMA one refurb so far and newegg did it asap. They had none left for sale. Try and see what happens. I trust newegg very much.

Just got mine in the typical 3 days and it works flawlessy so far. Like warriorfan23, mine came in box with everything the new card was supposed to have. It had obviously been opened, but so far I think I got a great deal.

Got mine last friday and stuck it in my wife's machine and it worked perfectly. Had that rddblee thing running for 48 hours strait OC to 420/1178 all stock stuff. Wow. It still gets hot about 57c idle/81c load.

Holy crappers!

They weren't lying when they said this thing weighs as much as a truck.
Wow,

sad thing is my 2nd 17"LCD monitor just decided to stop turning on, VUNDERBA.

Maybe it's the one I just RMA'd back to Newegg. With all the hours I'm working I'll just hold onto my money, and see what the GT prices do in the fall.

Also the site says that the card comes with nothing if bought as a refurb but some of you got everything with it? Did all of you that ordered got retail package?

Also besides the fact that some are not working, are there any other complaints? I'm really considering buying one as its right in my price point. i know im going to upgrade my whole sys eventually but i rather wait till next year when longhorn and ut2k7 are close to being released.

Eh, I'm jumping. If it's DOA, there's probably a decent chance Leadtek will replace it with something new.

Good question, Tyson95. Their "claim" is that refurb items are ones they have received back from the manufacturer, presumably repaired or replaced with a working unit. The truth? Who knows, but we all have our suspicions.

AndyD2K, that's their standard blurb for everything refurb. It's a crap shoot as to whether you get the accessories. For instance, just received two Asus refurb motherboards today. I got the motherboards in a white box. No manuals/drivers/cables, and more importantly no I/O shield. Basically you take your chances. Most of the time it doesn't matter, but sometimes it might. For instance, recently I considered purchasing a refurb Radeon 9600 All-In-Wonder card, but changed my mind because if the card did not come with the adaptor cable it would be completely useless as it does not have "normal" VGA/DVI outputs.

Guess we are up to 4-4. AndyD2K, are you feeling lucky? You have a 50% chance of getting a DOA card.

I'd jump as well, but I already got a bad refurbed ATI card from Newegg. While they are good about taking it back I was still out shipping back as well as the hassle. Hopefully if Nvidia can hit there mark by this fall the 6800GT's should fall in price anyways.

Same with me, returned my 9800 pro 3 times before swearing to never get a refurb from newegg again.

who cares if you get a bad one? NEWEGG WILL REPLACE IT. this price is too cheap to not take a chance if you are looking for a 6800gt.

Ya, they will replace it with another refurbed POS. Been there done that along with MANY others here.

I was satisfied with the RMA and with friend's RMA. They also RMA stuff back to you that are still under warranty with the OEM if anything ever goes back after the first 15 days.

I haven't got mine but I'm a bit worried now that there seems to be a pattern of OOS and DOA's then RMA's and "Back in Stock"...Did anyone get a refurb that looks like it's used? Is it possible that when the Egg got a return, they in turn get one from Leadtek to put back in stock?
