I noticed a disturbing trend on this forum in which people go to great lengths to defend gun usage. Suddenly, even popcorn can be a lethal threat. Any reason, however far-fetched, that somehow makes the killing legal in the court of law is good enough for them. It seems that fear can turn people into gun-obsessed cowards who think that everyone wants to shoot them so they feel they are entitled to shoot first. The ferocity with which they defend every shooting makes you think that when a situation presented itself in which they could legally use their guns and kill people they gladly would. Actually being in danger is not important. How do you call someone who studies self-defense and related laws just to be sure that when the time comes he won't miss an opportunity to preemptively eliminate a possible threat?
ps. I didn't mean this thread to be anti-gun rather anti-paranoia. The kind of paranoia that makes someone proudly say that he would shoot any stranger seeking help knocking on their door because that could be a burglary.
