I just signed up for the deal last week. I bought an Xbox 360 with it from BB. Some pretty good after XMas deals. GoW for $40, Accessories 10% off, +$10 off game, and a $20 GC. Total cost to me was $513 (with tax) - $150 (from Sony Card).

What I got
Xbox Premium ($399)
1x Wireless controllers ($49.99)
Call of Duty 2 ($39.99)
Gears of War ($59.99)
$20 Gift Card
Total: $549
My Price: $480 + $35 tax - $150 Sony Card = $365 with a $20 gift card on the way

this should get a sticky, maybe if we get 10 million people to sign up, therby costing CHASE 1.5Bbillion dollars, maybe we can bankrupt them:);)

Me either, I have sent this out to several friends and it has received a luke warm response. Rest assured that I am gonna take their free money. :)

for those that got the credit, did you end up spending over $150 before you saw the credit being applied? i was approved and got the card already but was thinking of maybe making a $20 purchase to see if they would automatically credit me $150. then i would maybe just request the $130 difference in a check or something.

You can call them all you want but it can take up to 2-3 months for the credit to show. There seems to be no rhyme or reason why some accounts get it quickly and others don't. I've done many of these deals for the Sony card and the time always varies, so just be patient, it will come.

They most likely wouldn't send you a check...you'd just have a $130 credit on the card, making it similar to a gift card. I think you could transfer balances to it from other cards if you wanted though...

Activated my card last night; I'll be buying some home theater equipment on it tomorrow. Thanks for the deal, OP!

I got an instant approval, which gave me a screen with my credit card number, security code, and expiration date. It looked as though you could use the card right then. Anyway Buy.com has a good deal going on the Corsair 520w power supply. To make long story short I could not buy the silly thing with the temp. information they supplied. I talked to Chase twice yesterday, and Buy.com customer NO service twice. It turns out according to Chase that you can't use the card until it shows up. They were freaking out that I got that information online, and my account activated. It was just that the temp security code was wrong. LOL, got to love these credit card companies. :Q

I've been looking at this thread for a while now. I finally jumped last night since the $150 credit deal to apply for the card expired on January 4th. I immediately stayed on SonyStyle and ordered myself a PSP core system. This is one of those toys that I could never quite justify purchasing but for $50 after the credit....it's a steal! Now I just have to hope that the credit card company doesn't gank me for that credit. Good times and thanks OP for finally giving me a reason to buy a PSP.

I applied for two credit cards.

I received them and made my $150 purchases (paid my auto insurance). Once I get this credit, I will very likely NEVER DO BUSINESS with a card issued through Chase again.

This company is the most abusive, irritating, pressure-selling company I have ever had to deal with. I was SHOCKED when they not only called my work phone trying to issue me a business credit. After I refused them, I got calls on both my cell phone and my home phone. AFTER refusing their offer of a business card.

Their "offer" of a business card was not an offer either. Here is a transcript of the call. (My phone calls are recorded for legal reasons.)

"Hello?"
"Hello sir, did you recently apply for and recieve a personal credit card from Chase?"
"Um, yes?" - At this point I thought it was a scam - why would they ASK me? They know I did... and they called me.
"Excellent sir. I am in the process of opening a business account and sending you a business credit card. Is your address XXXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXXXXXX, XX XXXXX?"
"Um, that is my address, but I don't -"
"Excellent sir, that business card is on it's way. Is there-"
"Excuse me. I have all the cards that I applied for."
"That's fine sir. I've confirmed that you will be receiving a busi-"
"No. I will not. I have the cards I applied from for you bank and I do not want any more."
"Sir, this is completely free of charge and carries a low introductory-"
"I do not want any more of your credit cards. I have the ones I applied for."
"Sir, this-"
"You will not send me any more of your credit cards."
=Line disconnected 01/04/2007 4:39 PM=

At this point she actually hung up on me. Since then I have received 8 calls from chase over my cell phone and my home phone. I have used my blocking feature now to block all the calls from these idiots.

Their number is 224-222-5000 from Elk Grove Villiage, Illinois.

Never again. Never !#@$ing again.

i believe the $150 ended on january 4th but the first purchase, you have until march.

i called up chase just to clarify the terms and the rep doesn't know anything in terms of the minimum you have to spend or the deadline to making the first purchase. but the offer online did mention 1st purchase has to be made by march. i also asked how come there was no mention of the offer when i receive the card in the mail. he said he doesn't know but the way it works is they have a 3 digit code for offers and my account shows i do have the 3 digit code for the $150 offer so i'm good to go. of course he doesn't know how long it takes for them to apply the credit but my guess is if it doesn't show by the first statement, just call and bug them.

The $150 should still be valid until the March deadline. Nothing in the terms mentioned that offer expiring until then. January 4th, however, was the last day for double reward points on Sonystyle.com.

Right. I was just stating that I don't think we needed to purchase by January 4th to get the $150.

I almost bought a notebook yesterday, but the free shipping promo ended which cancels out the double rewards so I figured at that point there was no additional harm in waiting. Maybe there will be another promo or trade-in or something that I'll be able to use before March.

If not, I'll end up using the Sony card to buy a Lenovo notebook. :)

Well I bit and bought an xbox 360 premium for $250 shipped from amazon. can't beat that with a baseball bat.

i notice that sony is now offering a $100 discount. i'm wondering if i can apply again for another card and get another $100 off. it seemed to work fine with the $150 promotion (it was a second card that i applied for). of course i'm hesitant though because i don't know how bad of a hit it'll be to my credit rating ;o
