An "A" rating from the NRA is a financial gold mine for politicians. Politically it means they won't fund a challenger; you're unlikely to be "primaried." Slip to an "A-"? Watch out!

I'm all for banning cigarettes and alcohol. I'm also for banning people who opt out of insurance from getting us to work on them for free when they show up in our ER. Oddly I'm not for banning firearms as again, I hunt and carry. NEXT..
You're a real humanitarian. Compassion and empathy ooze from you. Seriously, a hero among men. I'll leave off with what kind of men I'm speaking of.

Yes, they do things like buying Priuses or driving/travelling less. Unlike guns, environmentally conscience purchases and actions help everyone by driving down gas prices and energy rates with less demand (besides the less pollution, etc.).
Trillions as opposed to millions, naive much?

Well, fortunately being a "humanitarian" is not a requirement of health care workers. Don't fear though, forcing us to work for free is something that republican and democrats can all agree on so that won't change any time soon. Keep smoking, keep drinking, pay your premiums... no worries... as for the men you speak of... are they the same men that put their dorks in the glory hole you work at? Not interested...

And a long over due altplonk as your parting gift...

Explain who doesn't want better gas mileage & greater energy efficiency in their homes. I figure it's everybody who pays for energy. Reducing dependency on fossil fuels is good for everybody except the people who produce it.

Or maybe all those LED lightbulbs are a commie plot...

You work for free? Are you a mainstreamed individual? Your employer is supposed to pay you. Tell your advocate to make that happen for you.

lol. from the guy that brings cigarettes to a gun fight.
Give him 30-40 years, he'll kill ya with 'em Dammit! And, he'll get away with it too because smokers are the truest, most heinous mass murderers in a world where a person can find a study on just about anything being the cause for some kind of cancer or other. I know I determined long ago that anything and everything will be a contributor of my inevitable eventual death... Ya know, except for just being randomly and abruptly taken out by a gun wielding p.o.s. while innocently going about my day-to-day life. That, I'm not sure I can prepare for. I suppose I could try smoking furiously to kill the gun toting freak right back but I suspect my lungs would give out far too soon what with the gun death and all.

Shooting investigation report has been issued. http://www.cnn.com/2018/01/19/us/las-vegas-shooting-investigation-report-details/index.html

Apparently there's a person of interest to the FBI who is expected to be charged in the next 60 days. Hmmm... wonder who.
Have you seen that the guy who manufactured his ammo has been charged? Paddock was careful when he purchased this ammo and wore gloves to preserve the dealers fingerprints on the ammo. If I saw that I would immediately call the cops and explain what happened.

There's something very suspicious about this and I suspect that prosecutors see different angles as well. If your customer behaved in this manner wouldn't you become alarmed by it?

The criminal charge involves another type of ammunition — armor-piercing bullets.

if you're buying 720 rounds, a lot of times that much ammo will come in a metal can, as opposed to just loose rounds all over. so maybe someone grabs gloves to not cut their hands on the can. who knows. but the ammo dealer didn't think much of it, apparently.

can't remember what the laws are on AP ammo, but it doesn't sound like the actual shooting is why the ammo dealer is being charged per se.

He's charged because he didn't have a license to manufacture AP ammo and distributed it to multiple states (which constitutes interstate commerce). In the testimony he said that Paddock went back out and got some gloves before accepting the ammo which is what I find interesting. They specify that it was in a box, the type (cardboard/wood) isn't specified, when given to Paddock so even that wouldn't require gloves unless he were trying to keep his prints off it which is what I find suspicious.

If that's the "person of interest" they were talking about earlier, that'd a bit misleading sine they don't think he had anything to do with the shooting, just illegally manufacturing ammo.

We'll all just have to wait and watch this investigation unfold to see how everything plays out.

To not "cut their hands on the can?" What does that even mean? I've never cut my hands of a can in my entire life. The guy who sold it to him wasn't likely in on the crime, but far and away the most likely explanation for him wearing gloves was to keep his prints off the ammo because he meant to commit some crime with them. A fact which didn't concern the seller since he was making a profit off the sale. Whether he's guilty of some sort of crime or not I do not know, but clearly the man is an asshole who never thought Paddock's crime would be big enough to make news and come back to him and so now he's pretending he didn't understand.
