The Israel/Egypt peace treaty was probally the most significant treaty to date that has aided the nation in continuing its existance.

I don't think Egypt will ask or even need help, but the leaders of the productive nations of the middle east are comming around to grudginly accepting Israel. It is the same thing as what happened in Europe, they realised if they stopped fighting one another there lives would be much better (ignoring Ww1 and WW2).

Egypt has done a good job of taking care of there own fanatics, I would love for them and Hez to go to war so Egypt can do what Israel couldn't and take care of that problem efficiently without an international outcry.

Acutally the Egyptian government is quite secular, Egypt has always been reasonable in this regard. Israel's never fought Islam, as many here think, but fought with Arabs. Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Egypt - were all relatively secular (much less than Israel is, though).

But from the early 90's, the conflict became more about Islam, thus harder to contain and resolve. With the neighbouring Arab countries, it was just about respect and territory (in this exact order), but with Hamas, nothing less than a complete extermination of Israel and the infidels inhabiting it would do.

It's really scary, what's going to happen in Egypt once Mubarak dies. Same for Syria, and actually, same for Jordan. These countries might become Irans, unless leader keep their strong grip.
