Ah, so what you meant to say was, "Is there such thing as an EA game that isn't loaded down with DRM malware and bugs?"
No there is not.

Run driver sweeper and remove all the drivers from AMD & Nvidia.

After rebooting install the latest beta driver & CAPS from AMD's website.

And FYI my family has never had an AMD card burn out & brick on us from the drivers, Nvidia has.

First person I have heard that bricked a card with drivers.....I know about the drivers, but never heard anyone actually borked their card...

Anyway, out with the popcorn and beer:.......

He is pushing that power supply pretty hard with that setup. Hate to even suggest it, but you might be in the market for a 1000Watt power supply.

I can't imagine a 7990 used more power than my 470s overclocked.

Even peaking it (Furmark) at stock would leave around 300w for his CPU and the rest of his comps.

PSU calc says he uses ~646 max. I had to guesstimate a few things but yeah that 850w should be fine. Unless its ancient or something.

OP if you cant get the drivers to work send me the card, ill take care of it ;)

he does have his cpu overclocked too. He is definitely pulling some serious juice regardless and if his PSU was flaky... I'm just saying that it warrants a little investigation.

Please return your system to stock. CPU stable over clocks regularly still have problems only detected when the GPUs also get going. To game you will likely need a lower over clock on the CPU, but while debugging a problem you should always be at stock to ensure that isn't the problem, ever.

I won't suggest anything else until you start eliminating the obvious things first.

Why?...I already stated I was aware of the driver issue!....I said this was the first I had heard of someones actually bricking the card!..

never mind. If a card is that unstable, the card or system memory and-or o/c is destabilizing the rig. Not a driver

card destablized the cpu oc =[ because as who ever posted it i finally gave in and went tos tock and everything works now........ other than crysis 1

Have you tried downclocking or overvolting? I got that error when my core OC was unstable in SP.

i hope u dont use dirty words like that around your mother......... downclocking is a dirty dirty word

i think a bigger psu is in order............. like 1200 watts so i can power everything since it works when the cpu isnt drawing an extra 100 watts

At 4.6GHz that's a pretty decent overclock you are running.
After running Driver Sweeper and perhaps CCleaner's registry cleaner, restart with a more modest overclock and install the latest Catalyst package.

The data zipping to and from the pci-e slot/ to your monster card has to go pass through memory and pushed by the cpu o/c. It's demanding, and usually exposes issues.

Good luck.

Tell us more, how do you have 12gb. Is that 2-2gb and 2-4gb?

With just 2-2gb on my computer, I have to run the ram at 1.66v and 1.68v with faster speeds/timings. That is with 2, -smaller dimms.

Sometimes odd configurations, result in more stubborn tuning/stability.

Try deleting the game's configuration files (or rename them to .bak) and launch Crysis 1 again.
