Best boeuf bourguignon ---> Le croissant dore , bolsa street, westminter ($5 a plate with bread). It is way better than some crappy beef burgundy from some expensive french restaurants. Warning : don't drink the coffee there. It is more potent than some illegal drugs !

I think Apple Pan is just too much hype. I'd much rather have a Father's Office (Santa Monica near Montana) burger than anywhere else. The best burger I've ever had was actually in NYC. Corner Bistro or Mchale's (14oz).

only problem with Father's Office, you can't change the burger in any way, you have to have it the way they make it, no subs.....

Burger's Burgers in Mammoth Lakes, CA is probably the best burger I ever had, and absolutely no question, the best French Dip ever.

Rhino Records on Westwood Blvd. would be a close second.

Best place to play basketball: Men's Gym at UCLA (may still be closed due to renovation) or Westwood Recreation Center on Sepulveda, near the Federal Building on Wilshire.

I got these places from a book in a bookstrore, but I forgot the title of it. I've only been in Men's Gym and it was OK. The courts really needed to be repaired.
