Someone spent sitting nearly four hours in a row to get that "team best"? Wow... unless the last number is fractions of a second.

Or is there a way to save/resume?

Expert sessions can last hours.

Maybe you guys are talking about the new survivor mode, where even the developers haven't cracked the ten minute mark yet.

that would be minutes, not hours

survival mode will send an endless hoard of infected, including a possibility of multiple tanks, until you are all dead

think of it like refusing to board the rescue vehicle at the end of a campaign and seeing how long you can survive...

Survival mode sounds like it'll get boring fast, most people will just sit in a closet as long as possible and then get killed on the run for more ammo.

I'm glad they are releasing something, and it's free, but man I just wish there was more co-op campaigns. This Survival Pack does almost nothing for me because versus is not much fun to me. Though I admit I still play a game or two of co-op most nights a week.

I always hear how the SDK is going to solve all that, but I don't think some people realize what it takes to make maps, models, and mods these days that are even close to a professional. Very few mod teams have that kind of quality.

edit: Nice that we got a release date in the preview. April 21 for retail and earlier for download. A long wait for someone who likes L4D as much as I do but not bad for Valve time. :)
Argh, none of the preview videos on IGN work for me.

The Valve community has a long history of a dedicated and very competent mod community. Hell, several of their best sellers started out as independant mods. We'll see some good stuff from the mod community for L4D, that's for sure.

Survival mode sounds fun, but I am really waiting for some great new Co-op maps to surface. I wish I had the time to mod one myself now that the SDK is becoming available.

So many people have been waiting for the SDK. It is almost a year late at this point!

I don't understand why they waited so long to release the other two versus campaigns. You can play them right now although they are not perfect just use console to call a vote callvote changemap airport.

It sounds boring with random people online but AWESOME with an expert coordinated team of your own :)

That rule applies to every mode in the game. :)

So there's not even really any new maps for survival? They just split up the campaigns that were already made and added a lighthouse? This DLC seems really lazy on their part.

Yea I thought the same thing when they announced it. L4D is a fun game but damn, seems like they got really lazy with it.

I should start playing it again cus I know lots of things have changed in the past couple months. I need to practice before the new content comes in.

I know someone else mentioned this at one point, but I had the same original thought... someone needs to design a really cool Co-op/versus map on a Cruise ship or maybe a large naval ship of some sort.
