damn i thought it was march 3 to march 5! needless to say I already ordered.

oh well, I don't see a 3.1 megapixel falling much below 500 before rebate anyway.

I wonder if CompUSA, Best Buy, or any of the other big stores will have an incentive to have an instant rebate + the coupon for a super buy. I am ready to buy right now if a unresistable offer comes about.:D

LOWBOY. why would you buy a 1.3 megapixel camera for 300.00 when this thread is telling you how to BUY A 3.1 Megapixel camera for $100.00 more? And a vastly superior camera at that.

Sounds like the Fuji 1400- and that's the list price. Bought it from Staples as a gift- with coupon, PM, and after tax, it cost me 221- the stores, by the way, have packaging with free NMH batterypack/recharger too. Also got the free Zip offer (exp. yesterday).

So- that is a much better deal. However, personally I bought the Kodak 4800 (unfortuantely, before all these great deals :(, and the pictures are unbelievable. If you can afford the extra$$$ (but we're talking more like 180 or so extra), definitely go for the kodak. But I know people who love the Fuji- it's smaller, and takes nice pictures, just not real photoquality- depends upon your budget and needs.

Anyone know any good deals on the Canon S100 Digital Elph? I need something small to carry around. 2.1Mpixels is good enough for me.

Guys, check out www.dpreview.com for reviews on all digital cameras.. It seems that Canon G1 is best 3 megapixel camera on the market, Nikon 990 is second and KOdak 4800 is NOT far behind them 2. Now if you consider that it is half the price of other 2, this should be no brainer..
Good Luck

BamBam...

PhotoAlley 15% off

(same link I posted earlier). I just tried it several times and "15% off -- click here for details" messages appear both at the top of the page and in the center, further down.

Siamskunk ...

How did you go through ebates to the 15% off page? ebates' link always takes us to PhotoAlley's main site -- with no 15% off option.

Amdmaxx-
You may want to check reviews from cnet- they rave about the Kodak. I don't remember where, but the Canon did have some drawbacks wrt the flash, and the 990 is great except for the red-eye problem on indoor pictures. All the reviews about the Kodak were very good

I'm a new member so please tell me if this is the wrong place to ask this kind of question. -

I just bought the dc4800 at Harmony computers for $375 before MIR on Friday. The next day it was back to $475. They emailed me today and said there was "an error downloading the site" (presumably on my part?) and that the real price is $475 and that they won't ship until I give approval.
Do I have any chance in challenging them or is it a futile battle?

Thanks to anyone who responds.

I think it's pretty much futile. You can complain all you want, but I highly doubt you'll get it for 375.

I would check to see if they had billed my CC the $375. If they had I would tell them it was already paid for and accuse them of fraud if they don't ship. But then again, sometimes I just enjoy being an azshole.

Ribbet and everyone who try to use ebates,

it's quite simple, first go through the 15% link, click on it and then add the camera to the cart

then leave this window open while you open another one, direct this new window to ebates. Then from Ebates, just browse as usual to Photoalley page.

by doing so, you should see the 15% discount applied to your item in the new window as well.

good luck.

Then face east, place your head between your knees and f*rt into the westerly winds and you'll enjoy ... :D

Thanks .....

While this camera is pretty good for the money the batteries kind of turn me off. Replacement are $60 a piece and the review I read suggested getting an extra pack cause they don't last long.

Here is the battery

http://www.atbatt.com/getItem.cfm?ItemID=3991

I will stick with the coolpix 950 or 990 you can put off the shelf NiMH
AAs that cost about $3 a piece or $12 a set. I can have 5 sets for the price of one of these batteries.

walmart.com has the DC4800 for $499.

Here's a work-around on the admitted crappy Kodak battery life. A reader at DPRieve.com posted this, and it seems like a good compromise for less than 40 bucks. Higher MhA of 1300, and you can buy just the battery if you want. The proprietary battery really turned me off on the 4800 a few months ago when I first read the review, but the price makes up for a lot of misgivings. I have owned two Kodak Digital cameras now and have been pleased (Mostly with my DC280) and would buy Kodak again.

Where can you buy that battery (Toshiba BTR-BT2) for less than 40 bux? I can't find it in stock anywhere for close to that price.

walmart.com is 499....3% ebates and 3% dash = 470 + 6 Ground or 19 2Day.. = 476 or 490

Now, my question is how do i apply both the ebates and the dash?? doesn't the Green bar at the top have to be there in order to recieve ebates? But when i try to activate Dash, the green bar goes away.. :( Can it be done?

The Digital Dog has the Kodak DC4800 for $466 with free UPS ground shipping . I cannot find any ratings on this place. Any one know anything about them? Also the NP-80 batteries for the Fugi digital cameras are supposed to be compatible as well. LINK

PCMag rated the DC4800 number 1, above the Nikon.
