We may want to take these discussions from those of us who actually bought this camera to the KODAK forum area of

Some GREAT battery ideas too. Someone had link for ACD201 for $39!

P.S. YES, Staples deal is good til at least 4/13/01

There's still time for those who want to get in on this deal and are *Willing* to try Sears or Staples PM.
Found This Place called Cellular Connection.
They have it on sale at $440.88

You could end up paying $340.88 after rebate if you can successfully PM at Sears.
or a bit better if you could PM Staples and use $40 off coupon.

Me? I already got one at $360 after rebate...........and will file a claim with my Blue for an extra $20 😉

edit: found another place for $442.95 in case the first doesn't work for you, LINK

Be warned, 2nd day shipping for the first link is $100 something........so you're better off with Sears.

I can't afford to get in on this deal, but thought I would mention to everyone that my local Sam's Club has this camera dropped to $469, and no mention of the rebate. I haven't read all this thread to check the details of the rebate, but if it is available from any retailer, this seems like a good way to score on this camera.

$440.88 GREAT PRICE FIND Siamskunk ! And posted the second as a backup and both with links. NICE WORK !!!! U got the lowest price 2 PM as of now (April 2)now.😀

Walmart has it for $499(b&m)as well as online! Go through that rebate site for an extra 3%.
The online site only charges tax in a few states. The main reason I might go this way is,if
I have to return it,I can return it to the local store! Also I KNOW this company is dependable!

Siamskunk. Great find on low prices! Be careful (or lucky if you can) with PM at Sears with these. My Sears will only Price Match B&M stores and neither of these seem to have an actual store front. But you should be able to PM these with Staples (as they do pure website PM) if you can get the generic $5.00 shipping charge used.

The Cellular Connection link of 440.08 is $37.50 shipping even for just regular Ground Shipping!!! Good god...

roth shipping does not matter in this deal. See Seattle's post STAPLES CAN NOT SHIP THIS BABY OVERNIGHT.

<< Also I KNOW this company is dependable! >>

Jeepers no Staples by u ?
Hate 2 c ya waste money. For a savings of over 160.00 bucks go with Staples.

geez, just wanted to add to this HUGE THREAD!!! anyone know what the canon firmware does for the canon s100 digicam?

Hawkeye
As I understood it, Staples can't charge NEXT DAY shipping, since they always ship digitial camera 2-3 day.
But they will add on the regular shipping rate listed on the web site, or $10 if no shipping is listed.
That first link Siamskunk gave wants $132.58 for next day shipping or $37.50 for regular ground.

Hehehe.....that's why I love my Blue, it is scarely to try PM when 2nd day s/h is something like $100...........good luck.
I'm just gonna call my Amex and file a cliam for an extra $20.

Can't imagine if someone could successfully PM Staples with $40 off...........mannn that would be like DC4800 for $304 or something.

Ya, more power to you if you can get Staples to sell you this camera at a loss of $100 or more.

I went to Staples this weekend, PM printouts and coupon code in hand. The manager ran the PM info and wouldn't even go for that. I didn't even get a chance to spring the coupons.

The manager is accountable for his store's profitability, and has the right to reserve service to anyone. He doesn't have to lose money on a deal. And Staples buys these for over $400. Significantly over, if the Staples cost he quoted me was accurate.

So, good luck all. But Blue seems like the way to go - they don't have to worry about showing profitability - it's their CSR's job to give away money on their PM guarantee.

Cheers,
-Dave

Has anyone found a decent place where you can get this camera shipped without getting raped on shipping charges?

Alesmith,

Try it through www.staples.com before you give up.

They now have it on their site.

PM, use the $40 coupon and give a little on the shipping.

People are netting after sales tax at around $350.

Well crap... If Staples is out of stock I might as well just buy it from any other cheapest online store.
All the $40 coupon was doing was covering the amount of sales tax I was being charged anyway.

Is Sears having another 10% off weekend again?

I just got back the local Sam's (Dallas,TX) They said they don't carry the 4800. The only Kodak's they had were a couple 3400's which were marked at $470. The same price a couple people mentioned here that the 4800 was priced...

Sams Club in S.CA does have this model. However, this model is DC4800EZ not DC4800 which I heard they don't give the rebate for this one.
