damn it!

I keep forgetting Saturday is a late start

As it should be. Why the hell are the Sunday games so early? The "evening game" starts at 4:40PM EST? What idiot thought that was a good idea? Bump that back a couple hours, bump the early game back a couple hours, and don't force people on the West Coast to get up at 10:00 AM on a Sunday, dammit! I need my sleep!

are you still in college?

Know how many Sunday night games I actually saw all the way through without falling asleep? Grown folks have to work in the morning!

I think many fairly argue that he is responsible for 2 Championship teams--coaching the Colts, and putting together much of the Tampa Bay team that Gruden coached to the championship.

That's more than Ditka!

Meh. 1) I'm not convinced he was responsible for much of anything on the Colts' offense. 2) I think those Colts teams underachieved, and it took a ridiculous comeback by Manning against the Pats to get their ring. I put as much blame on Dungy as I do on Manning for that.

Yeah, the Sunday scheduled times are rather stupid. Why is there not Sunday NIGHT football. I mean, sure, the sun sets at 4:47, but that is no reason not to have a night game.

Not all of us are 106. And, these games should be a lot more interesting than some of the SNF we saw this season.

No, I'm a working professional. But seriously, think about the west coast times for football on Sunday:

10:00 AM - Early game
1:30 PM - Late game

If you're religious (I'm not, but there are plenty of football fans who are), church is going to cut into your ability to watch the entirety of the early game. Barring overtime, football is over before 5 PM. I want to watch the game and have a beer with my buddies, but I'm not drinking beer at 10 AM. By the time a proper drinking hour arrives, there's nothing to watch. And, lest we forget, the late game is between the Denver Broncos (Mountain Time) and the San Diego Chargers (Pacific Time), so the fanbases that are most involved aren't going to have any problems staying up past when 9 PM descends on the East Coast. I think the East Coast bias being exhibited by the NFL on a day when exactly one East Coast team is playing is absurd. At the very least, they could compromise by knocking it back an hour; having all football done before the sun sets is just annoying.

Not that I haven't said this before. Good luck Saints. History ain't on your side.

Worried the 49'ers will need to play in Seattle, are we? :p

Actually, as a 'Hawks fan, I would rather face Carolina next week than the 49'ers. So much familiarity, and although you guys have been routed the last several times up here, the 49'ers are too good for that to gone on forever.

Not sure if Kaep has matured enough to handle the onslaught his senses take here in Seattle, the last several games he seemed confused and out of sorts.

This is why the Bloody Mary was invented.

Morning football is the greatest thing ever. Roll out of bed, football is on! I don't have to sit around all day and wait for it, and have no time afterwards to do something meaningful (...not that I really do anymore, anwyway).

Yeah I love it too. I get up, go for a run, then come back and watch Football. Then for the afternoon games I go grab some lunch and a couple of beers. Good times.

Not gonna lie. The likelihood of going into CLink is a bit terrifying. Another reason I'd like the Saints to win.. I just got my playoff tickets should the game be at Candlestick. Would be nice to go one last time.

I think if Kaep can survive Carolina's front seven, I like our chance against Seattle. I'd wager that Carolina's front seven is better than Seattle's, but Seattle's secondary is second to none.

Same here. Hit the gym before the game, shower and start drinking and then watch the game.

Bloody Marys are excellent, don't get me wrong, but it's not a good "football" drink. I like a good Sunday brunch, an assortment of breakfast foods, lots of bacon, coffee, mimosas and bloody Marys. But I can't do a celebratory sip of bloody Mary or mimosa after a touchdown; it's just weird. Might as well be toasting with eggnog. Give me a cold refreshing beer for such occasions. Just not at 10 AM.

shit when i was in hawaii on my honeymoon 5 years ago, i remember watching the "4 oclock game" back here on the east coast, at 10am over there. i was eating eggs and drinking beer at the bar watching the skins/cowboys game at 10am, it was pretty awesome. but the 1pm games here are 7am there. now THAT would suck ass!

but i was talking to quite a few locals there and they said they love it. they said their sundays consist of watching football in the mornings, then going on the beach for the rest of the afternoon in the white sand crystal clear waters. must be terrible...

You have to plan your honeymoon around football season. Why risk possibly missing a game?

Ditka was a hell of a tight end when he played, i believe he was the first TE elected to the hall of fame (1988)

Yeah I'm going to Hawaii next Sunday night and I made sure the only full weekend I will be away is Pro Bowl weekend! :D

He was still coaching when he was elected into the HOF as a player. He also coached the 85 Bears, Walter Payton, and William Perry. And had it not been for the Redskins, the Bears would have one more than the '85 Superbowl.

Granted, he also did trade all of the Saint's draft picks for Ricky Williams. I actually like Ricky Williams, but that move didn't pan out.

I like Ricky, too, but I think Ditka should have been removed from the HoF soley for this:
