Been busy lately, so haven't had the time to keep-up with the forums.

1st. things thirst, yes, add me to the race...:

16754 - Ingleside

As for BOINC-clients, as long as you're running atleast v5.2.6 it doesn't really matter then it comes to SETI@home. Still, would highly recommend to run atleast v5.4.11. Also, if you're running a v5.10-client, make sure this is atleast v5.10.13, if something like v5.10.7 and you're running windows, upgrade ASAP.

One thing to remember, if you're running v5.10.14 or later, if a project doesn't have any reasons for asking for more work, it will normally delay reporting of results with 24 hours, one thing to remember for the end-of-race. 😉

As for optimized SETI@home-applications on the other hand, Sir Ulli is likely better informed than me. 😉

I haven't ran Seti since Classic ended but I will switch the few machines I have left over from Tanpaku for the race.

sweet!!! I keep watching baxsie and keeleysam stomp me every day in RAC!! Now we have many of our top crunchers on board, plus smoke has elisted team enterprise

Uh Oh, I didn't read all the rules. 😱

I've just sent invites to all of our heavy hitters. :Q

What the hay, it's all for fun anyway. 😉 🙂

That's good!😀😎

IIRC the main 2 rules are you have to sign up to be in & no stashing results to dump during the race.

Here's the rules
Its seems the team splitting rules also factor in RAC.

Did you say their's upto a weeks delay before credit is actually given for any finished WU?

No, I said it was 24 hours == 1 day delay of reporting results, if no other reason to connect, like you're asking for more work. Just something to remember, in case someone sets "no new work" then filled-up their cache and so on. 😉

As for actual crediting, this depends on your "wingman", so can happen either immediately after you've uploaded your results, or over 1 month after you've returned your results...

The odds of being paired with someone that decides to go AWOL is roughly the same for everyone, so a few wu's not being validated before after the race shouldn't change much.

I guess I'll jump back into SETI for a couple of weeks for this. As long as adding a slow guy doesn't hurt us, why not?

Edit: I guess this is a worthwhile 2500'th post. 🙂

There are a LOT of really good/smart crunchers on those teams. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see that 465k exceed a Million before the end of the Gauntlet.

Guess I'll join in with a couple of boxes, it's been a while since I've participated in a good S@H race 😛
Userid 34350 - Coolkid 🙂

I would not be surprised if TeAm AnandTech (and some other teams) will be split up for the race ... well, it does not really matter, it gives a somewhat more level playing field.

Just for the sake of repetion (since today is the last for registration):

From the Gauntlet FAQ:

If you want to join a team, just send an email to rweezepoel[at]yahoo[dot]com, stating your account number and user name.
If you have a Gauntlet thread on your team forum, please include this in your email, I will then create a link to it. You can also sign up by replying there. This is the preferred way of joining a team. If you have multiple subteams they can share the same thread. Registration for TKIG 2007 will close Sunday October 28th, 24.00(GMT+1).

got the email, it's me, long time no see! 😀
