well, let's face it, folding should probably be a higher priority than seti. I just like seti b/c they are the trailblazers that all others have followed.

here's a question: I've thought about folding on my x1950xt, but I've heard that it can take away about 25% of your output from other DC projects when you do that. Is that accurate on a system like mine, or would it just be a couple %?

I guess you missed my thread about F@H GPU (& DPAD)

The short version ,I have a C2D @3.2GHz running 2xDPAD ,prior to running F@H on my 1950 Pro I used to get around 50-52k ,now I get about 30-32k ,that's just over 1/3 drop in output.
Looking at the task manager I see F@H GPU cpu useage going from anywhere between 10-40% ,but as I mentioned ,long term its about 1/3 of total cpu power.I guess it might be a bit less for yours seeing as its running 300MHz faster than mine.
Atm I don't know what the impact is on F@Hs performance sharing a CPU core with DPAD ,but if I shut off 1 DPAD then F@H pretty much uses a whole core ,with cpu useage more or less constant @ 50% & also total system power draw goes up ~5w!

oops, yeah, I've noticed huge slowdowns during regular web browsing while running gpu client plus seti. Looks like f@h is outta luck for now

what about TAS? can we add them to gauntlet? I know that they're supposed to move on in nov, but what's 2 more weeks?

TAS-crunchers decide for themselves if they want to continue to crunch seti@home after Oct. 31. Some of them have decided: Coquito, Caferace, GenHoth, hymy, Tom Philippart, RudyToody and Petrusbroder are TAS-crunchers and some more will probably join.

yeah, it's 256mb. I know, I know, they said that it would run better with 512, but they also said that 256mb 1950 pro ran ok so I figured it was worth a try. My e6750 went from 1275 to under 1200 in a day, and it was still dropping at a precipitous rate. I figured that it wasn't worth it to give up 300-400 RAC on seti to gain 1/2 that on f@h plus clog up my system and make it nearly unusable when everything was running.

Just out of curiosity, I'm running stock BOINC 5.10.20 on all my win32 boxes these days. Is there a (non-opposed) SETI optimised client somewhere?

Near all are dual-core and a mix of AMD and Intel, if that matters...
