the arcane one is worth finishing lil bro, its really interesting as well. get some sweet items out of it.

also as you did the warsworn one what option did you chose at the end of it? i know what they both are just curious

yopu get a title at the end of the arcane one as well like house of ballads. id guess you get one for each. im gonna try and bang out travlers tonight, and warsworn as i know im close to the end of that one having already done it but doing it over to chose the other option

and being able to change it to hard without restarting would be good as i can smash the crap out of things with my big hammer

Do you mean the end where
You kill the Niskaru thing and it asks you to become its champion? I chose no and became a TrueSworn. What are the differences? Do you get the same Twist of Fate card, or are they different?

I'm not sure about the arcane one mostly because I have 0 points in sorc but I guess I could check them out. The Traveler one just pisses me off cause it is all about stealing. And I am either a terrible terrible thief or there is no way to steal half the items without alerting the guards, who I then have to pay off. Damn quests cost me gold in the end.

That's one thing I'd like them to change, how your bounty is calculated and how fast it goes away etc. Would be helpful if I had some kind of display that said "x min until no longer wanted" or some such. Also if I murder someone inside their house, the guards outside shouldn't auto know about it. But I murder people so infrequently it's a minor issue.

Also for crafting you have to get better materials to make better items. Onyx is the best blade material and will make stronger weps in general. All the Blacksmithing skill does it let you combine more things, better salvage results, and at master level it adds something like 6% more dmg to the wep.

I currently am wearing a chest piece that gives +1 to the first 4 tiers in all skill trees, and my new fate card gives +1 to all might abilities. Very pimp.

the lock picking could be better, its too trial and error IMO,

I never really understood that in the demo. There seems to be no visual indication of where you need to put the pick, so it's really just a guess. :|

Just so you guys know, it's too easy on hard too. Better than normal, but reckoning is still god mode.

Ahh yea glad I didn't chose that one, didn't really have a compelling reason to go the other way with it.

Yea I don't know if there is a method or not, I originally was going by the sound the lock made, but now I just force them all the time.

My method is pretty simple...you have to start with a guess, followed by another guess (left or right of where you started). On your second guess, if the pick breaks faster than it did the first time, you went the wrong way, and so on and so forth. So there's luck involved in the initial try, but even if you're not lucky, you should be able to pick most locks with 2 (maybe 3) picks if you're good as estimating how far you need to move based on how fast the previous pick broke. Also, if you're careful with it, you can realize that you have the wrong spot, and let go of the button before a pick breaks, then move and try again with the same pick. So I admit there's luck initially, but there's also some skill. It's not great, but it's a fine minigame as far as I'm concerned.

It's similar to Skyrim in that the pick will shake prior to breaking. The sooner the shaking happens, the farther off from the sweet spot you are. You need to advance the lock a little at a time and adjust the pick as needed until it reaches the end. I normally lose only one or two picks on a hard lock and that's generally because I'm not paying attention.

I use shaking + speed of movement...it slides slower if you're in the wrong spot.

360 controller makes it easier as you get vibration closer to the breaking point as well, but the controller really isn't viable once you get past four abilities, which is a shame as the UI is actually better with the controller on (one example: instant gear comparisons versus equipped).

I have only played the DEMO so haven't gotten past four abilities. I can say that controller is 1000% better movement and combat with the controller than it is for Kb&M (at least to me). Am really hoping that the four ability thing isn't a game breaker because I could not get used to the hand contortion necessary to have any fun moving around in game with Kb&M.

Think I found a bug, anybody had the screen shake every 5 seconds or so for a split second?..I think it first started in combat but it stills doing it even after restart of game and in town.

Bit annoying so trying to fix that at the moment.

Update: well I think I fixed it, just had to keep fighting mobs for 30 mins plus and the screen stopped shaking, weird bug lol...

from what I played in the demo, the movement and such for this type of game is very standard for KB&M setup.

Though, I see that I would enjoy it with a controller--except for the multiple abilities part. That demands KB&M.

I know I am late to the party, but after playing quite a bit of the game I would like to give my two cents.

Game really feels like a mix between Diablo, WoW, Elder scrolls with some god of war thrown in. I can tell that they put alot of time into making this game...

Positive:
Good graphics and combat system
Good main story line
Nice open world
You can respec "re fate" your character to whatever you want (for a price)
Battle mechanics are pretty fun

Bad:
Too Too easy!
No multiplayer (co-op would have been awesome!)
The vast majority of side quest are very very dull
Towns and cities have little to no character

I think the game is fun but one of the major flaws is that it is just way way too easy (and Im playing on hard). The only time I ever died was by some mine traps, I usually smoke any mobs (Im playing as a pure mage). Keep in mind I am still only level 16 but I have a hard time believing that the game is going to get that much harder at this point. And if you ever have a hard time with a boss, just save up your fate and go into Reckoning mode which equals "I win".

I also really wish the game had some sort of multiplayer, diablo "esque" style.

Either way its a fun game and I do like it for what it is, but who knows if it will do any good in sales? I mean people are still playing Skyrim plus this is getting released right before the ME3 monster in March. I see this game getting a big price drop soon.

P.S. Also the equipment I got from the arcane faction quests is making me crazy powerful now ahahaha.

Lockpicking is sooo easy. Even on the really hard chests I only lose 3-5 lockpicks at most, and lockpicks are a dime a dozen. Don't waste any points into lockpicking.

Yea the difficulty could be higher. I'm playing as Might/Finesse and there have been multiple cases where I died. Mostly due to sheer number of casting type mobs where I'd get swarmed by spells while trying to close the gap on one of the bastards. I also agree that reckoning = i win, and with fate potions it's easier to pull off.

Still enjoying the game though, as to the sales, it was the #1 selling game on the UK charts, which is pretty good, not sure how it did otherwise, but as a debut game for the studio, should be a good start.

Really? I've failed quite a few times on the very hard chests (~10% chance).

Lock picking is easy dude. My char is level 18 currently. I have 0 points in lockpicking. I use no more than 3 on Very Hard locks. No more than 2 on Hard. Haven't encountered a master yet, but can't imagine it to be too difficult either.

one of those games that you get bored of it but you continue playing just to see what it has to offer next

finishing the travlers line gives you a fate card with +1 to finesse and some other bonuses. 2 options just like the warsworn one, i actually dont remember if the arcane one had 2 options but id guess it does

Key with stealing is waiting for the eye meter thing above people's heads to fade away, you're always told your percent to be detected as well.

That threw me off for awhile. I thought the percentages being shown were a percent success rate, so I kept getting frustrated when I had a 99% chance and the guards would see me. Finally I realized it was the percent to be caught.

The thing I find hard is the dispel chests, always fail on them lol... mind you once you get blacksmithing up to higher levels you can make better stuff anyway :).

I made my first staff and its better then any staff I've ever found, even epic ones I had(including pre-order gear).

I was disappointed with the demo and preorder gear. Replaced every piece in under 2 hours of gameplay. The only good preorder piece was the "Dowsing Rod" from the Amazon preorder which causes all herbs to show on your minimap.

When I played the beta, I would position that pick in various places on a difficult chest, and they would always break. I literally went through about 10 picks on a difficult chest. I don't know if things changed, but I definitely did not see what you're saying when I played. An easy chest rarely broke my lock pick though.
