Okay, I'm no expert on this, but do they even attach gravestones to the base pieces?? I thought it was just the weight of the stone that held it in place, not any fasteners (bolts, whatever) or cement/glue.
That's why, when someone gets into destructive mischief in a cemetery, the gravestones get tipped over, since they're not attached. The base stone is buried in the ground, and has to settle properly before the headstone can be put in place (I remember that from when my grandfather passed away).
Doesn't really matter whether they're physically attached or not, imho. The parents are 100% responsible for the kid(s), there's no way that the cemetery should be considered at fault, unless they were negligent in placing the headstone before the base was stable. Besides, who brings a 2 year old to a funeral anyways, let alone lets them play during a funeral??? I hope the judge gives them a one-word decision on this case: BABYSITTER!!! :roll:
