okay, your description of the position was a little confusing. Do you mean that you should be like this for this exercise?
Edit: Safeway has a better pic. No MSpaint skills for me.

I NEVER work out abs, and have a nice six pack. Pretty much any core excersise works out your abs better then silly crap like this. I can do more situps in 2 minutes then anyone in my company.
Anyways, back when I did try to work out abs, I could hold this and keep my back straight well over 2 minutes. Got bored and moved on.

You have more dedication then me Koing. I've found reasons to work out every part of the body except abs. Perhaps you can fill me in? Downloading the dragonflag video, but it might take a week or so![]()

You're probably working your abs and you just don't know it. Like squats if done correctly are a great ab workout.

Well if you read up higher in the thread that was the point that I tried to make. Squats/deadlifts, and I'm sure some other stuff works out my abs enough, so why do a special ab workout?

You have to have your elbows bent if you lay on your forearms. Are you crazy?

Plus having visible abs is 90+% diet anyway, although having a strong core is always a good thing, even if you don't have any definition there![]()

Try this out:
1. Lay on the floor like you're going to do a push-up
2. Instead of using your hands, hold yourself up with your forearms.
3. Post how long you can hold the position until your abs become a firely gelatinous glob.
This is a tough ab workout that doesn't require any extra equipment. I can hold it for 34 seconds before they start burning too much. Post your times!
Keep your body straight like plank and support yourself only on toes and forearms (elbows would probably be acceptable).Originally posted by: Qacer

I'm not sure if I'm doing it right. I held myself up using my forearms for 1 minute. I didn't feel anything in my abs. My forearms feel weak, though.
