Hey...Bush calls 'em "folks"

I guess Bush should invite those folks on down to Crawford for a pig roast!

I read it as Kerry's vision once it is mostly stamped out.

I'm not sure how much mileage they will get from it though.

I sense that both camps are getting desperate.

Bush IS the threat

HE has created FAR MORE terrorists than before 9/11

HIs Admin LIED about Terrorism related Deaths - then they retracted their story to say IIRC.. that the numbers were MUCH HIGHER THAN EVER IN HISTORY!

BTW, Kerry is focused on NUCLEAR Problems and has been his whole life.

Bush is focused on oil and has been his whole life

Take it for what it is worth.

In some ways, the Bush Campaign is doing Kerry a favor. Hopefully, people will be curious enough to read the WHOLE thing instead of just blindly accepting the commercial as 'truth'. I mean, by now people have to realize that to just believe what you read or hear without checking it out of yourself is pretty stupid. Hopefully, people want to make some sort of attempt to be educated about these matters.

And when they do look into this particular case, they will read the quote in its proper context and see that it actually is a very sensible way of approaching the issue of terrorism.

Yet another diversionary tactic from the Bush campaign to shift focus to Kerry. What else is new?

Ahhh, back to the pre 9/11 mindset of swatting flies.

Funny, I don't remember that being a palatable policy to either side of the fence.

I hope Kerry runs with this...

I hope he does too. It's not quite in the same league as a carterism but awful damn close.

Did you see the quote in its context?

The article, a largely analytical cover story in the magazine, says the interviewer asked Kerry "what it would take for Americans to feel safe again."

''We have to get back to the place we were, where terrorists are not the focus of our lives, but they're a nuisance,'' the article states as the Massachusetts senator's reply.

Kerry's dead-on...again.

Yes, I have read his full quote. And you're right and I was wrong - it was a "dead-on" carterism.

Nope...it's a dead-on accurate statement.

Or, are you as insane as the PNAC ideologues in that you think terrorism will be 100% wiped out?

sorry conjur but his statement is a load of crap, how prey tell do you or he suggest we get people in a mindset where terrorists are a mere second thought after something like 9/11, or are you and he so quick to forget...sorry but until people think nothing of 9/11 then terrorism being nothing more than a nuisance is a fleeting wish at best....he should consider putting down the crack pipe and actually talking about reality for a change.

"what it would take for Americans to feel safe again."

Think about that and then think about Kerry's statement:

''We have to get back to the place we were, where terrorists are not the focus of our lives, but they're a nuisance,''

Kerry's not saying how we get back to that point, just that once we hit that point, we'll feel safe again. What will have to happen between now and then? A helluva lot. How much time will pass between now and then? Who knows? Years? Decades? A century?

Stop thinking in purely black-and-white terms. Free your mind and enlighten yourself.

Surprised everyone missed this quote from Bush in the last debate. Seems Bush thinks we'd be better off with Kerry as President:

Saddam would still be in power if he were the president of the United States, And the world would be a lot better off.

"The truth of the matter is, if you listen carefully, Saddam would still be in power if he were the President of the United States, and the world would be a lot better off."

Meaning that Saddam would be in power and the world would be better off according to kerry if he were President.

Nice try conjur. Now back to kerry's "nuisance".
