Oh yes, the great My side won, yours lost argument.

My side is America and it did lose, because people like you think the only important thing is keeping "your guys" in power. This goes far beyond Bush, neo-cons and liberals. Anyone who will protect and defend their "side" no matter what are destroying this country. America needs to have good open debate on all issues, but in this era of "my side, your side" we get no debate only two equally stupid and worthless sets of talking points. People need to wake up and realize that their first priority should be America, not some party of lairs, cheaters and crooks that care nothing about them.

What are you talking about? This forum is full of people to whom Bush is the antichrist and the left can do no wrong. This forum is all about "your guys" and "my guys". There are very few independent thinkers here.

Sorry wingnuts, but he spoke the truth.

Now go crawl under your desks and hide again.

QFT. You Bush fagboi cowards are lower than Bush himself. You worship sh1t which makes you even less than sh1t. Deal with it. preferably over in Iraq. Ya bunch of girls.

Look at the left wing homophobe. Damn hypocrites and losers. You can criticize Bush all day long, but don't even recognize what a bunch of lowlife, hateful scumbags you are yourselves. The modern American Democrat and Republican deserve each other.

you totaly made a fool of yourself by missing his reply above
As I stated in the PM to the mod posting this message, it was a simple typo. I meant to type fanboi as I have countless times here before, not fagboi. Apologies to the gay members of the forum, in my years of posting here I have never called anyone a i love you. I advocate gay rights, I do not oppose them.

If somebody can be called a racist for using the word "macaca", typing the word "fagboi" instead of "fanboi" is enough to make me think he's a homophobe somewhere in the back of his mind.

I mistype "the" as "teh" all the time. It's like a typing mental block. I'm sure secretly in the back of my mind I really want "the" to be spelled "teh". It's my little subconscious grass roots campaign.

I think there are probably less independents, but we also aren't as loud as a group.

If you actually read my post you would have realized I was talking about everyone that has "their guys."

What two equally stupid sides did you think I was refering to?

Olbermann announced that, barring unforeseen breaking news, he's replaying the entire 9-11 editorial on today's show. His message needs to be heard. 😎

Must be in response to all those "complaints" MSNBC received. /sarcasm

Why not? He and Cheyney can skip the tendering process to line the pockets of their Haliburton friends right?

If there was a gleaming 1776 foot tower standing in New York right now our enemies would be the ones making excuses about why they could not defeat American spirit.

A fanboi? Of whom? Please, enlighten me.

It's funny, because Olbermann, a commentator, is not and will not ever run for political office. He may have a political axe to grind, but that's his JOB.

At least he can do his job.

Yep, it's easy to sit back and criticize. It's much harder to actually do something about it. Just look at this forum.

😕

Er...huh? You do realize that's exactly what I was implying would be the criticism the President's detractors would immediately jump to?

I don't really care if there's a hole in the ground in NYC or not... I just think it's extremely silly to put the reconstruction effort on the President's plate. There's nothing the guy can do to speed up reconstruction. Let the people and governments of NY do as they wish, WTF is with this sudden five year timeline that had to be beat?

What is wrong with you people? Can you quit the partisan babble for ten seconds to look at anything objectively anymore?

If you don't care then you have no pride as an American.

Nothing the guy can do to speed up the construction huh? Yeah, you're right he's only THE LEADER OF THE FREE FVCKING WORLD.

It's not a five year timeline that needs beat either. It's an IMMEDIATE timeline. If it was under construction five years later I could understand. These things take time. The fact that NOTHING has happened is a national.. no GLOBAL JOKE.

I wonder if they they are going to let Trent Lott's house stay leveled flat for five years? Stop making excuses for your boy. He sucks and people will do anything to support him.

We all need to hope that Olbermann`s ratings go up....
I would hate to see him lose his job and fall into poverty and wake up one day and strap a bomb to himself....

"Yep, it's easy to sit back and criticize. It's much harder to actually do something about it. Just look at this forum. "

Uh, it's our role to express our opinion and vote accordingly.

Are you suggesting that everyone should become the leader of the country and implement policy? It doesn't work that way. There's room for one president.

Most Americans are in the role of contributing by offering opinions and suggestions.

Or maybe the forum members should just go build their own building on the site, implement their own foreign policy in Iraq, etc. Your criticism makes no sense.

And it's a total whitewash for any accountability for the administration. It's American to push for good government, not to silence those who do.

Yeah! The US government should just annex the land and build a tower! In fact, they could just go ahead and annex all of Manhattan! That would show the terrorists!

Seriously. And yet in the very post previous to that one, had the tendering process been cut short, he's already bashing the President/Vice President for "[lining] the pockets of their Haliburton friends". *shakes his head in wonder*

The president is the only person in the country who is allowed to take any action at all? Start a non-profit organization or a charity. Become a lobbyist. Run for office. If you don't like the way things are being run, change it.

"Somebody oughta do something!"

Yeah, somebody oughta. Just not you. If the only role you want to take is every few years at the ballot, and whining on the internet in between voting years, don't be surprised if things don't go the way you want.

You miss the point boberfett. The point was that citizens were critized for stating their opinions on what should be done.

Since this is not a country of anarchy, but one of government where the society acts cohesively with a representative government and unified actions - there will be one plan for the WTC area, for example, not many different buildings built there - the role of the citizen is not to build the building, but to speak out with their view of what should be done.

You talk about starting a non-profit - fine, but that, too, is neither a replacement for what the one government will do, nor is it something everyone can do - 300 million non-profits would be meaningless. Non-profts can do good, but they are no replacement for the government and citizens ruling the government.

You also suggest running for office. Uh, fine, but again, there is exactly one president, one representative in the House for each citizen. It's not as if everyone should run and then the one person who wins ignores the public. There will always be many citizens and their role is to speak out.

My gosh, are schools still teaching civics?

Your excuse that the president doesn't have the power is weak. He made arrangements for the rebuilding of an entire country in a few months notice. Why can't we get even one brick laid at ground zero?

It's five years later and nothing has been done. There are no excuses left and there is no argument that ANY of you can make that will withstand this sad fact.

Let me repeat that for the dim-witted in the audience:

It's five years later and nothing has been done. There are no excuses left and there is no argument that ANY of you can make that will withstand this sad fact.

Go ahead and reply. Go ahead and say ANYTHING you want. I'll just copy-paste that sentence and it will trump your argument.
