That's some serious speak your mind Keith Olbermanns doing ....reminds me of the 70's before the press core became whitehouse stenographers for both parties.

Freedom of speech baby!! I don't understand why people still support our president after he fumbles every disaster (not to mention the economy) that is sent his way. 9/11 and all of the conspiracies surrounding it didn't just mark his failure or his administrations failure. It provided a lesson, one in which instigated the thougth police...I mean fatherland security...I mean homeland security...yes that's it. Katrina yet again proved that this administration and therefore our immediate government doesn't know how to handle disasters.

Although, I would also like to know why he is not in court yet. How is it possible that the ex-head of the CIA can broadcast that Bush's administration falsified evidence to claim war on an unrelated target and the president NOT have an impeachment trial? What's the hold up?

I'm leaving this crippling country as soon as I can afford to.

Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

Our country has a door? With illegal immigrants constantly pooring in and commercial airplanes dodging it I'm sure I'll be fine.

The thoughts of Olbermann are 'personal opinion' in part and axiomatic observation in the rest.

First one must separate the two and agree or disagree with his position on the 9/11 site but you simply cannot disagree on what is axiomatic... well you can and have but that is in keeping with your myopic and polarized support for the current Administration. Facts is Facts and those presented by Olbermann will register with the few on the right who engage their brains and be lauded by the many on the left as having been inspired by the righteous indignation befitting a betrayed American..

My side lost nothing. Typical you try and turn it into a game of winners and losers when people have and continue to die. Perhaps you will get the medal of honor for the carpel tunnel syndrome you have keyboard soldier.

Hear that umbrella39? "You" side lost! Ha! Eat that one for making fun of my incompetent president!

(Note: Funny thing is, when you type in "incompetent" to a Google search engine, the first few results are not dictionary definitions...in fact even on the second page you continue to get results that pertain to the Bush administration...I wonder why...)

Oh yes, the great My side won, yours lost argument.

My side is America and it did lose, because people like you think the only important thing is keeping "your guys" in power. This goes far beyond Bush, neo-cons and liberals. Anyone who will protect and defend their "side" no matter what are destroying this country. America needs to have good open debate on all issues, but in this era of "my side, your side" we get no debate only two equally stupid and worthless sets of talking points. People need to wake up and realize that their first priority should be America, not some party of lairs, cheaters and crooks that care nothing about them.

The money demographic is 18-35 which Olbermann kills O'lielly in.

-show me the ratings statistics proving that please.
-olbermann thinks he's coming across as ed murrow, he's not. i feel sorry for dan arbams, the new GM over MSNBC. No doubt Dan will have to keep vitriolic guy on a tight leash from now on, based on all the angry emails they received as a result of is ill-timed speech.
-By the way, love how Olbermann spins statistics. From newsbusters.org:

Have a look at the poll that Keith Olbermann flashed during this evening's Countdown.

Try to put aside your politics for a moment to describe - in all objectivity - the most striking aspect of the poll results. I'd say it's the fact that by a margin of almost 2:1, Americans feel more safe rather than less safe since 9/11. Pretty good accomplishment by the Bush administration, you might say.

So how did Keith Olbermann characterize the results? "55% combined think we are either as safe or less safe" since 9/11.

-Spin enough Kieth and maybe you'll have yourself convinced you're right...

exactly, his rant was not about the wtc site but about what has been done in general, the empty wtc site was just a simbol for the results... a big fat nothing

Five years later this country's wound is still open.
Which reasonably explains why there has been no construction on the former WTC site...Olbermann cites Gettysburg as an example, but that is a poor choice...because Gettysburg did not result in the nearly instantaneous death of thousands of noncombatants, many whose remains never were and probably never will be recovered. Many want to see a new building erected at the site as a symbol of defiance...those who lost love ones there cannot fathom the thought of a building going up over what many consider to be the final resting place of their family and friends...sorry Olbermann, but the President has very little to do with why the WTC site is still a large hole in the ground.

Five years later this is still just a background for a photo-op.
Which Olbermann doesn't hesitate to use as a background for his commentary. Pot, kettle, black?

How dare you, Mr. President, after taking cynical advantage of the unanimity and love, and transmuting it into fraudulent war and needless death, after monstrously transforming it into fear and suspicion and turning that fear into the campaign slogan of three elections? How dare you -- or those around you -- ever "spin" 9/11?
Isn't that what Olbermann is doing...placing his own spin on 9/11 to voice his criticisms of Bush.

No doubt Olbermann is a gifted commentator, and perhaps it is healthy for our society that such vocal critics of Bush continue to voice their opinion...if only to quell the conspiracy theory nuts that insist we are becoming a fascist state...if that were the case, there would be no Olbermann broadcast for us to debate.

Yet despite his articulate delivery, Olbermann doesn't offer much of anything we haven't already heard...the same criticisms, packaged and sold in much the same way as Bush attempts to package and sell the WOT.

Oh, I wholly agree with you. I've voted for and am a member of the Liberal Party up here in Canada, in fact - though I voted Conservative in the last election. I just find so utterly hilarious that umbrella39 gets so worked up over stuff that's said online that I can't help but take the opportunity to drive the dagger in a little deeper. :D

By the way, all of you, nice work singling out my response and not saying a word to "you Bush fagboi cowards", or "you worship sh1t which makes you even less than sh1t." But hey, good one on calling me out!

Get used to it. Around here, if you disagree with anyone to the right of Castro you're Bush's buttboy, regardless of the fact that (like myself) you're a registered Democrat and have worked on the campaigns of Democrats yourself (also like myself), gone out door to door to register people to vote (still talking about myself here), and support the party financially (do that too)--more than I'd wager 95% of the P&N liberal tin-hatters can say.

I am a registered Republican who campaigned against Bush both times. So beat that  (I can't stand Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld but I believe in the core non-religious fanatic right wing values (for the most part) of the former Republican Party.

Seriously, I think the Iraq war was a huge mistake and thought so at the time. I think the Democrats are worthless with their lack of cohesive party vision and can only attack the Republicans. I think the Republicans have lost their fiscal minds and have gotten us involved in a quasi Vietnam (Iraq and Afghanistan together at 418 billion just for the war nevermind the lost productivity [obviously the lives lost on all sides is painful] of everyone over there. Cut taxes in a time of "war"? Insane. As a member of the small government, less taxes, get the h@ll out of my life conservative (with some liberal social tendencies, paradoxical but true ;) ) the idea that we have cut taxes at this time boggles my mind. I don't want taxes raised but cutting them in a time of "war" is assinine. What is the answer? I am unsure but ...

Stay the course in Iraq (for that is all we can do and we owe it to the Iraqi people and our troops to see this through). Step up efforts to find Bin Laden (heck offer a 100 million dollar bounty or even 200 million) and/or put more troops on the ground in Afghanistan (from where I don't know ;0 ) and paramilitary troops on the border with and across the border into Pakistan (with Pakistani behind the scenes authority).

Edit: For egregious grammar errors (I am sure there are more but so what?)

Excellent post neighbor. I'm just north of Jay from you near Grove.

Key reasons I believe America must Elect a Non-Career Politician.

Not that has anything to do with the OP. Righties have an aversion to the truth, it's like their Kryptonite.

Reality must suck for you.
Here are the numbers:
Persons 25-54
O'Reilly 509,000
Olbermann 167,000

All people:
O'Reilly 2,100,000
Olbermann 431,000
http://www.mediabistro.com/tvnewser/original/aug06vs05.pdf

Find me 18-35 numbers if you can and post them to prove me wrong.

BTW: better numbers does not mean O'Reilly is right and Olbermann is wrong, it just means that more people want to listen to what O'Reilly has to say. Which means there are more people on the right paying attention than on the left :p

Who the hell is he to assign a timetable.

Exactly. If Olbermann's purpose is to show a metaphor, why use a metaphor at all (especially one that's incorrect)? Is he afraid to really speak what's on his mind?

PWNT.

It's not hard to see why Olbie has gutter ratings. The same reason Air America might be filing for bankruptcy. That's what happens when you broadcast junk.
