India claims to be the biggest democracy in the world. Isn't the meaning of democracy the rule of the people? Shouldn't a referendum decide the fate of Kashmir's people.
Well, most countries that are known as democracies aren't ruled simply by the will of the majority of the people.
Most countries simply aren't governed by mob rule.
Even on legal terms, India has no right to rule Kashmir.
I'd imagine that there would be arguments on both sides. You know, legal arguments.
Anyways, India just has to wait. It's a growing global power while Pakistan is stuck in the stone age. Pretty soon India can do whatever it'll want with regard to Kashmir, except for the part controlled by China.
