Optics is everything. It was a missed opportunity and also exposed herself to criticism. Curious how her team could miss this.
Didn't a prominent figure just state that they'd prefer the politicians stay the fuck out of the way and let everyone do their jobs?

3 elephants in the china shop are Helene + Milton, the burgeoning mid-east war and Russian aggression in Ukraine. The 4th and 5th will present during the next administration. You can be fairly confident of one thing: A Trump administration would bungle all of them badly. Vote BLUE.

Here's a link to this piece that appeared yesterday.

This should get anyone past the NY Times paywall for the next 14 days, i.e. until Monday Oct. 21, 2024:

As usual, the comments are also very interesting!

This is all new information to me - had never heard this before.

Proportionately, he uses 13 percent more all-or-nothing terms like “always” and “never” than he did eight years ago, which some experts consider a sign of advancing age.

Similarly, he uses 32 percent more negative words than positive words now, compared with 21 percent in 2016, which can be another indicator of cognitive change. And he uses swearwords 69 percent more often than he did when he first ran, a trend that could reflect what experts call disinhibition. (A study by Stat, a health care news outlet, produced similar findings.)

Gonna start worrying from now on if I'm using absolute terms like "never" and "always" more often than I used to.

Good to know that I have an excuse lined up to justify swearing more, though. Looking forward to my coming decades of pottymouth diatribes.

LOL "everyone I disagree with must be Russian!"

Damn blueanons
It is a bit odd how the large majority of your posts on here are about how Democrats are doomed and how you don't recalibrate your stance despite always being wrong, and always wrong in the same direction.

You never answer but I am genuinely curious to hear if you've learned anything. Why do you think you keep getting it wrong?

Sorry, but Dems barely winning elections while MAGA continues to consolidate power at local/state/election control levels is not a recipe for optimism.

Someone on here said it best a few weeks ago: Dems have to win, every single time. GOP only needs to win once.

Tell me again who's not doomed?

That's an entirely separate discussion.

So to repeat my question - have you learned any lessons from getting it wrong over and over, and always in the same direction? Why do you think you keep getting it wrong?

Is this you admitting that you’re always wrong?

Wow…the righties are all upset…

Reading the comments…they seem to think Kamala should be out in NC personally rescuing people and/or handing out supplies, I guess…(or maybe they’re upset that Daddy Trump didn’t get invited to show that’s about wimmenz sexy stuffs.

I admit…it’s not a great look…but it might help her reach an audience she might not otherwise reach.
Now, on the other hand, if she'd said "grab them by the pussy", everything would be forgiven...

Harris is now doing media mostly where the remaining undecided voters can be found. Anybody even remotely watching political news has decided and done so a while ago.

Meanwhile Trump's all base all the time strategy is still going. Not a single person listening to Shapiro is undecided or really likely not already voting for him. He's also doing rallies in CA and CO which is an enormous waste of time in the last month of an election.

I got no problem with Joe. If Kam can't pull it out, people are gonna be pissed at Joe who proved he could beat the Giant Orange Toddler.

I couldn't stand him since the 2016 election (before that I just thought he was funny). He's been getting more and more repugnant. What draws people to his rallies has always mystified me.
