Perusing my deep orange county, I saw two, count'em TWO, HairyBallz signs and 80 kabillion Russian 'Rump signs.
A lot less Trump signs around me this year. Someone keeps putting them up outside the neighborhood, and they get ran over constantly. North of OKC. Of course we will definitely go heavily for trump, but hoping it's a sign of lower enthusiasm. A few Harris signs too.

House Speaker Mike Johnson endorses the questioning of American elections. Thus he and the rest of the Republicans endorse overthrowing American Democracy.

MAGA MIKE DODGES TOO! WON'T SAY IF TRUMP LOST IN 2020
The House speaker declining to say Trump lost the election echoes JD Vance's "damning non-answer" during last week's vice presidential debate.
No surprise there. He was one of the point people trying to get congressman to sign a petition that was a legend widespread voter fraud and election irregularities.

I feel like this would be a valid cross-post in the "fuck this guy" thread

Good front page headline from NYT.

It's good to see other media calling out the tangerine terrorist for the piece of shit he really is.

‘Undisciplined, unhinged and deranged’: will Trump’s strange behavior hurt him at the polls? | US elections 2024 | The Guardian

A“beautiful” beach body and a “mentally disabled” opponent. “One rough hour” of police retaliation to stop criminals. “A million Rambos” in Afghanistan. Haitian immigrants “eating the dogs” and “eating the cats”. Death by electrocution versus death by shark. Insane asylums and, of course, “the late, great Hannibal Lecter”.

I liked the Daily Show clip that article links to. Also liked the first comment on the youtube thread

My idea for a new quiz show: the host reads trump's answer, and the contestants have to guess what the question was.

Though I think one could argue that would be an unfairly-difficult kind of quiz.

Really cannot street enough that this man is going to put the most dangerous racist cranks he can find into positions of power because he himself is a dangerous racist crank.
In the 1940s we drafted men to go solve the fascist Nazi problem.
Make the 1940s great again.

Probably won't matter as it looks like Trump is on track to simply win out right. What little momentum Harris had, is gone. Harris also has a problem with Arab American voters in both MI and GA.

By the way it's very funny that when Harris jumped out to a lead you basically entirely disappeared from the election predictions game. What's funny is your own article says Harris' lead has marginally increased over the last month AND, most importantly, has her over 50%. You also ignored a slightly more recent poll that has her up 5. Your game here is so embarrassingly transparent.

I have an idea though, if you are wrong yet again will you pledge to permanently hang up your election predicting hat due to your record of near total failure?

The irony of Trump being the alternative who is a person with essentially zero self control is something. But most men never think of themselves that way.
Why, that's just being a go-getter, with gumption!

Here's a link to this piece that appeared yesterday.

This should get anyone past the NY Times paywall for the next 14 days, i.e. until Monday Oct. 21, 2024:

As usual, the comments are also very interesting!

You're so full of it now your diaper has to be overflowing!!!

Shitlol

The thing is I don't even know if he's a jaded cynical lefty like myself. I at least want the dems to win and be effective at making our lives better.

Don't think I've ever seen a comment benefitting Americans from him. Seems to come off as a pcgeek type right winger!

Thanks for the link. And the author apparently waited 4 years, and 19 paragraphs, to reveal they had a source confirming what was only speculation previously:

Some of Mr. Trump’s cabinet secretaries had a running debate over whether the president was “crazy-crazy,” as one of them put it in an interview after leaving office, or merely someone who promoted “crazy ideas.” There were multiple conversations about whether the 25th Amendment disability clause should be invoked to remove him from office, although the idea never went far.
