This is a fantastical conversation.

You have diehard MAGAstans in every single state.
What are they going to do? All move to the predominantly Red states, and the Democrats/nonbrainwashed “independents” move to the predominantly Blue states?
How are you going to deal with the bread basket of the central plains?
It’s an impossibility. We’re stuck living next door to these people.

@Jaskalas Russians, despite their outward projection aren’t exactly gusto in their resistance. I think things would be a hell of a lot different here. Especially because of the 2nd amendment.

The same way Trump dealt with the other side.. ignore them and if they get in the way of a photo op, tear gas em!

If they overreact.. then we hunt them down but atleast we gave them a chance to be good productive citizens first!

And don't kid yourself.. just look at Elon's stream today.. he's theorizing Kamala will come for him and he won't be able to see his kids again. They are the ones wanting the doomsday scenario while we give them a chance (stupid of us but that's what we good guys have to do).

If you’re going to advocate for a national divorce one of the big questions to answer is how you deal with the collapse of the economies in most red states.

Do you think those states are going to say ‘well it was your money anyway, blue states, please keep it’? I suspect not! So what will they do? I have no idea other than I doubt it is ‘give up blue state money quietly’. Most of the south would be plunged into a second Great Depression.

Florida and Texas might be able to prop them up. Red states still produce a lot (most?) of the food, they could sell that to Blue states. Texas could sell oil.

A lot of it would rely on non-aggression treaties and free trade agreements.

Simp for that Diaper Czar cabinet position. Buns up, bitch!

There's people that bitch and whine and there's people that use spoons as a screwdriver and still somehow make it work!

What's more confusing is the two types of people generally hate each other and call the other stupid!

Red states would get the short end of that stick for sure. Blue counties nation wide accounted for something like ~70% of GDP a few years ago, I doubt it's changed that much. Red state welfare is real, now. I don't think TX or FL will be proping up shit while they keep getting smacked with hurricanes.

Red states have done better under Biden though. He doesn't play politics with relief for one. He got them out of the woods with covid and then came IRA, Chips Act and blue staters willing to put up with crime moving down for warmer weather. But, look to Russia for an example of what happens to talent when the economy crashes.

Speaking of food, and do forgive the age of the article (2014) Vox did a gathering of data that I'll share as it's kind of interesting.

Linda Ronstadt's Sept. 11 statement:

Linda Ronstadt

dtonsreSpog1Me4f50S2 0 1eb170m6 p36fcm137tmhf:7f94 c9lmeimartP0 ·

A Statement From Linda Ronstadt
Sept. 11, 2024
San Francisco

Donald Trump is holding a rally on Thursday in a rented hall in my hometown, Tucson. I would prefer to ignore that sad fact. But since the building has my name on it, I need to say something.

It saddens me to see the former President bring his hate show to Tucson, a town with deep Mexican-American roots and a joyful, tolerant spirit.

I don’t just deplore his toxic politics, his hatred of women, immigrants and people of color, his criminality, dishonesty and ignorance — although there’s that.

For me it comes down to this: In Nogales and across the southern border, the Trump Administration systematically ripped apart migrant families seeking asylum. Family separation made orphans of thousands of little children and babies, and brutalized their desperate mothers and fathers. It remains a humanitarian catastrophe that Physicians for Human Rights said met the criteria for torture.

There is no forgiving or forgetting the heartbreak he caused.

Trump first ran for President warning about rapists coming in from Mexico.

I’m worried about keeping the rapist out of the White House.

Linda Ronstadt

P.S. to J.D. Vance:

I raised two adopted children in Tucson as a single mom. They are both grown and living in their own houses. I live with a cat. Am I half a childless cat lady because I’m unmarried and didn’t give birth to my kids? Call me what you want, but this cat lady will be voting proudly in November for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz .

LOL "everyone I disagree with must be Russian!"

Damn blueanons. Same people that 2 months ago claimed Biden was totally fine.

no, that's weak.

it's because your entire purpose on these forums is to generate apathy, champion the dissolution of the US, and depress the vote.

That's why. You aren't posting anything in honesty, and it is specifically to advance the needs of Trump and Putin. Always has been.

red states produce roughage for inefficient ethanol and mostly feed grain for far too many animals, and nearly all of this sudsidized by the Feds--including the dirt that they don't even farm. Blue states produce food that people can eat.

I hear this argument around here.
Blue States typically have the money, in this separation theory food producing Red States would need to compete with Canada, Mexico and elsewhere around the world. Red States would not starve Blue States because we would simply buy our food from somewhere else.
Also Red States seems to be liking the idea of tariffs lately (and I don’t think they’re totally wrong in this), they will execute them poorly so don’t expect me as a consume to purchase food stuff from a State that makes it impossible to do business there. Tariffs are a two way street.

And don't forget your plan to ban all Muslims. Heil Indus!

With them being right wingers and wanting full religious freedom to control and insult people while the condemned undesirables wait patiently to be stoned, defenestrated, boiled and beheaded..

You would think they'll want to stay in Trumpistan!

Russia should have taught us all how this ends. It's the same story again and again.
Depends on your definition of end. If you are thinking about the shitshow that was Russia pre invasion, dictatorship and compliant populace and zero personal rights etc ... Then yea.

If you are talking about the shit show that is Russia in Ukraine right now and the imminent collapse of the Russian federation, that is only true cause there is freedom people/states capable of fighting back and aid Ukraine. Remove the US from that map, Europe would be behind like 10 years later... And into the dark ages we are.

One remaining question I've had from the GOP primary is if Trump's relative weakness would manifest in the general or would all those R voters just come home. Kinda looks like a slice aren't. I think I'll move from "dunno" to "maybe so".

Maybe that Dick Cheney endorsement really meant something to a slice who want to bomb bomb bomb bomb bomb Iran.

People who want war with Iran are already Trump supporters. He spent his entire first term trying to provoke war with them.
