If I were a Trump supporter I'd be working on my excuses for his upcoming loss, maybe recycle some from 4 years ago, and maybe come up with a few other fresh ones while you still have time.

To be fair the ones I know seem to like being "oppressed" under the heel of a dirty socialist Democrat. Gives them something to rant about though frankly they seemed to manage doing so under GWB and Trump as well. I know Fox loves it when a Democrat is in office, as does the gun industry.

Flip side, while I certainly complain about Trump I'd love nothing more for him to be a footnote.

Is it safe to assume that the lone white guy in the background was a not-so-subtle dig at the use of the obviously staged "black voter for Trump" at all of his rallies?
BTW - I saw 3 white guys.

One thing I will say about that crowd it looked more like America vs the crowd shots at the GOP convention. Even Kevin McCarthy said they look like a privileged country club.

I'm starting to think the replace Biden crowd might have known what they were talking about.

The wide angle shots of the Harris crowd looked fairly representative of where it was held - downtown Atlanta, which is about 50% black.

As opposed to the GOP convention in Milwaukee ~ with the 99.9% white convention held in the middle of a city that is ~40% black and ~20% hispanic

Trump is going to have a rally at the same venue on Sunday so people will be able to compare and contrast. Weird he's not doing something in the suburbs/exurbs instead.

one other thing is also for sure, his rally is not going to have nearly the same energy amount as the one Kamala had.

Or I guess it's happening Saturday. Still a weird location to pick far from his voters. Feels like he's trying to prove something.

They won't have to pay taxes on SS income because Republicans will just eliminate SS.

Lol I'm sure they'd like to but most likely blowing another titanic wad of public debt to finance tax cuts for the wealthy is surely the order of the day. Wealthier people would of course benefit quite disproportionately from what he proposes.

It is amazing how badly the GOP fucked up by pushing the dementia button so aggressively on Joe Biden. Now he’s out at least in part because of their attacks (along with some actual issues over the past year) and their guy is the mushy brain dementia grandpa. Just a total and complete backfire.

There is certainly such a thing as a strategy working too well.

You do pay federal tax on SS
According to the Social Security Administration:
"About 40% of people who get Social Security must pay federal income taxes on their benefits. This usually happens if you have other substantial income in addition to your benefits."

Of course, the SSA definition of "substantial" is quite a bit lower than what I'd personally consider substantial (half of SS becomes taxable above $25k income, and up to 85% of SS is federally taxable above $34k income individual / $44k income joint)
