I understand not wanting to vote for Harris, but I am curious what their reaction will be when Trump allows Israel to do whatever it wants, and when their community tries to protest in the streets, gets the Insurrection Act pulled on them and they are quickly/violently shut down.
I can't.

Kam is the ONLY choice.
"It's the economy, stupid."

The only thing most people are seeing sre the outrageous prices we pay for everything. I'm not even saying it's the Democrats fault, because it's not even remotely true, but it's the message that is resonating the most right now.

Outrageous?

U.S. News // 51 minutes ago
Wholesale inflation flat in September, up 1.8% from a year ago and lower than expected
Oct. 11 (UPI) -- In another sign of easing U.S. inflation, Producer Price Index September wholesale inflation was unchanged Friday, lower than the 0.1% expected by surveyed Dow economists. It rose 1.8% from September 2023.

A previously very reputable pollster released a PA state poll yesterday where the LV screen erased the entire city of Philadelphia from the survey to produce a tied race statewide. I dunno what's going on in the polling industrial complex but I have suspicions it is largely not good.

While the polls are all over the place with some questionable pollsters and cross tabs mixed in, I'm cautiously optimistic for the following reasons:

- Polls don't pick up on the massive amounts of new voter registrations which will be predominantly be for Harris.
- Women like her very much, and are more reliable voters than men. Trump has been targeting the younger male crowd and I'll take that trade any day of the week.
- There is a meaningful amount of anti trump sentiment among Republicans, which will lead to not voting, or for Harris.
- Early voting statistics are pretty favorable, especially in PA.

If trump somehow became more popular in the last four years after everything he has done and said, goes on to win, then we deserve to fail as a country.

Man the political press is so fucking angry that she just won't live on their shows that everything somehow springs from that gripe.

In a Sunday appearance on “Meet the Press,” NBC’s Andrea Mitchell said Harris needed to do more “serious interviews” to appeal to men.

“She’s got such a big problem with men,” Mitchell said. “I think there’s an undercount of the Trump vote. I think that there’s [misogyny] in all of this, Black and white men. Big problem.”

“But also the business world — they don’t think she’s serious,” Mitchell said. “They don’t think she’s a heavyweight. And a lot of this is gender, but she’s got to be more specific about her economic plans.”

They're so full of themselves they think they know exactly what Kamala should do and say, I highly doubt doing interviews on NBC is going to sway any men voting for trump, they think anything outside fox, newsmax and OAN is liberal owned media.

This type of punditry has gotten especially bad in recent weeks as their outlets are increasingly irrelevant to the campaign. At least we don't have a Hillary's emails level feeding frenzy to contend with this year.

Outside of the government supplied data, people still see high prices for energy and groceries. They see it everyday. Sure inflation is down so the rate of rise of prices is cooled - great, but people are still paying high prices. I'm not even blaming this on Democrats, it's just the reality right now. Like @Jaskalas said, they got caught holding the bag. The majority of voters won't see past that, they don't have the time/bandwidth for major economic nuances.

Maybe I should post this in the conspiracies thread...but I find it odd all these drilling permits the Biden admin authorized remain unfulfilled? Some collusion between these energy companies and Trump, so that when he is re-elected they all jump onboard and ramp up drilling? Yeah we're already producing a ton of energy but imagine if all the unused permits are now utilized. If there is an even bigger surplus of energy that could be the only driving force to (modestly) bring down some costs.

The days of fracking companies drilling and producing at a loss are long gone. There has been heavy consolidation in the industry resulting in way more financial discipline. If permits are sitting unused it is because they can't make enough money using them at current prices.

I think one of the post-mortems of her campaign will reveal she had a Hilary problem - just not likeable enough. Is some of it misogyny? Maybe, but if that's the case, and in 2024 the country is not yet ready to elect a female president (and the Dem party knows this), then why push a flawed candidate that can't win? It's just utter malfeasance.

That makes sense, but if we see these unused permits all of a sudden start being used after Trump is elected, then you know something was afoot...

I think it's fine to call most of this out as misogyny because that's the likeliest explanation. Going by RCP's numbers Hillary's was at 12.7 points unfavorable by Election Day and right now Harris is at 0.2 favorable. So I have questions about the actual real world magnitude of the issue at hand as well.

I mean if he goes to war with Iran that would probably do it.

Oh FFS

There was no one else!

If you're in a combat unit and shit happens.. you don't go, why is there just a woman holding the position.

Everyone knows she was the only one in that position and that position is Biden's fault! And I saw this coming and wanted Biden to stay in it but whatever.. we've been over that a million times.. It's her or Trump!

It's interesting because ever since Roe, all the talk was about how "women are going to punish Trump," but if these recent numbers regarding men (and especially minority men) are true, it's looking more like "men are going to punish Kamala."

Guess what. They will continue to see high prices after they vote for Trump. Been through a couple of these and prices never go back to where they were. It's called reality.
