The last Batman movie was okay to end the trilogy but it falls completely short of the standard the Dark Knight/Batman Begins set and it was clear in many scenes Nolan mailed it in.

The new Spider-Man movie was terrible.

Haven't seen new Spiderman, but the trailer looks horribad.

Off the top of my head, */10 reviews by me of Superhero flicks :D

Batman 1966 : LOL/10
Batman 1989 : 8.5/10
Batman Returns : 4/10
Batman Forever : 5.5/10
Batman & Robin : 2/10
Batman Begins : 8/10
Batman Dark Knight : 9.5/10
Batman Dark Knight Rises : Haven't Seen

Superman 1978 : 8/10
Superman II : 6/10
Superman III : 4/10
Superman IV : 1.5/10

Spiderman 2002 : 7/10
Spiderman 2 : 6/10
Spiderman 3 : 3/10

Iron Man : 8/10
Iron Man 2 : 6/10

Blade : 7.5/10
Blade 2 : 5/10
Blade 3 : 4.5/10

Xmen : 7.5/10
Xmen 2 : 6/10
Xmen 3 : 3.5/10
Xmen First Class : 6.5/10
Xmen Origin Wolverine : 3/10

Hulk 2003 : 5/10
Incredible Hulk 2008 : 6.5/10

Ghost Rider : 1.5/10
Ghost Rider Spirit of Vengeance : 3.5/10

Fantastic 4 : 4/10
Fantastic 4 2 : 4.5/10

Thor : 6.5/10

Captain America : 6/10

etc.

Anyone who can't see that the Nolan Batman films are something well above average for the genre is just intentionally going against the grain for the fun of it.

Seriously man, great ratings. I almost agree completely from top to bottom. I would go higher with Capt. America and lower with the Hulk films probably, but still an excellent list with spot on reviews.

Am I the only one who like the Daredevil movie?

As for Batman. They all pretty much suck, the michael eaton ones are a joke, the Nolan ones are way too long and tedious altho ledger was a phenomenal joker. All and I mean ALL the superman movies are pathetic. Spiderman? pah, crap, all of them. I did like iron man 1 but not 2. I liked thor and I like the avengers. I liked the ed norton hulk movie but all other hulks sucked, including the old show. I almost like the first xmen movie but all others sucked as did all FF movies.

The funny thing is I have collected comics for 30+ years, have 10k of them and hate most superhero movies.
Well, you found 1 of those 11 people fast. Because I liked it too. Elektra was hot, and Farrel as Bullseye, made the whole film. When he takes the old lady on the plane out with the peanut....:awe:

I thought the director's cut or whatever it was of the original Superman released a few years back, improved it. And you had to be around back then to appreciate the film. It was big hit at the time. It just did not age well. And Margo as Louise Lane is the worst superhero casting ever, not Dunst. At least Dunst has great boobs, Margo was a waste of film in every way.

Blade was a great comic book movie. And "Some muthafuckas are always trying to ice skate uphill." Is the best line from any comic book movie made to date.

I enjoyed both Watchmen (yeah I read the graphic novel years ago) and Incredibles for the way the films treated the genre.

Batman with Nicholson, is another film that did not age well IMO. But at the time, it was gold in more ways than one.

Still waiting for them to get The Punisher right. The dirty laundry short is the right direction to go. No more attempts at tugging the heart strings about what a good guy he actually is/was.

Spawn was a good attempt for the time. Again, did not age well.

The new Batmans are well made. My only complaint would be they get too preachy. We get it, we know who he is, and what drives him. Stop rehashing it for the short bus kids.

The only way I could get interested in a new Spiderman, is if they go dark, and do it with Carnage. And that would lose the kiddies, which means it won't happen.

The Avengers is fun, which is what comic books were before they started writing many of them for "the comic book guy". They finally got Hulk right too. Took long enough.

The first Iron man hit it out of the park though. It is the best example of how to treat the genre IMO.

the first spiderman movie is one of the worst movies I have ever watched. granted, I dont watch many movies. sooooo cheesy, the love scenes, so incredibly boring overall...my mind was constantly wandering and hoping it would end soon. I will try to never see another comic book movie after that.

so, i'm posting in a thread where most likely everyone will hate my opinion but oh well.

edit: oh dang just read the post above...actually I really liked the watchmen. didnt really enjoy the love/sex scenes but overall it was great

edit again for another "actually": actually, I do have interest in seeing the original dark knight some day, due to the high amount of praise i have heard for it.

Batman Forever was better than 5.5, it was the funniest movie that came out that year.

Captain America at 6 is weird, I thought it deserved a 8.

Iron Man 1 at an 8/10? Really, that movie was perfect.

Also, Xmen First Class was phenomenal.

opinions and all that ;)

I agree on both counts. Iron Man was 10/10 for a comic book movie. And Captain America even captured the feel of old movies. Along with treating the source material well. Much better than Hulk or Thor.

You're an anti-popular hipster, we get it. Just so you know, the anti-popular crowd is quite sheepish themselves.

You hate on things, but yet you go and see them? Sounds like you're one of those guys who likes to whine just to whine.

Sounds like you're an idiot that didn't read a thing I wrote. I have to see something to pass judgment on it. I like Chris Nolan and I liked the movies. Just not as much as everyone else gushing on their panties over them.

You know Spiderman wasn't done right when the most memorable character in the movie was Martin Sheen's portrayal of Uncle Ben.

I did think TDK was overrated... I was expecting to be blown away after all the hype and I walked out of the theater with a "meh" feeling...
Good movie? Sure, but there have been plenty of more entertaining movies for me
Dont agree with Nolan being overrated in general though as I think both Memento and Inception were awesome... He always brings a nice dose of mindfuck to the table with his original movies
Havent watched DKR yet but not too excited, but then again I always found batman to be a rather stupid "superhero" as there is nothing "super" about him

Surprised to see the new Spiderman sucks again... I mean seriously? Whats the point of doing a reboot so soon if its not gonna be any better than the previous one? And right after Avengers and DKR to begin with...

The fact you like the Daredevil movie invalidates any opinion you will ever have on any subject. Sorry.

You should see 'The Prestige' - way better "mind fuck" than the others.

Also, to answer your question - someone else already posted the answer. Sony had to make another movie to keep the rights to the franchise. Expect another one in whatever time frame they're on as they will just keep churning them out

It sure didn't sound like it after reading this:

I can make any argument that I want because my opinion is my own. The first batman movie was boring as fuck, not even a good movie. I tried rewatching it thinking it was my state of mind, nope. I liked the second one, a lot in fact - but it was still highly overrated. I liked this one as well, but its hardly as good as some people make it out to be - and frankly, I was bored throughout the movie. Definitely not the entire first 90 mins but most of it.

Also. I liked Real Steel. That movie was awesome and original

Real Steel was original? What was original about it? Robots fighting instead of humans?

I watch superhero or violent movies for the mindless action and eyecandy. I don't walk in there expecting nor want some convoluted documentary about a superhero.

I actually liked this movie. Did Sony just make it to hold on to the license? yeah of course they did.

Fortunately they also made a good movie. Most reviewers who I've seen compare this movie to the others rank this movie behind Spiderman 2 or at least above Sam Raimi's 3rd Spiderman movie.

The exposition could've been shortened, however, this version of Spiderman has the wisecracking smart alecky attitude that Peter Parker's alter ego has in the comics

If there hadn't been movies made less than 10 years ago I'd give the movie an 8/10 due to the previous movies it's 7/10 for me.

I agree the Prestige is a very good film. I came away more impressed with Inception but that was mainly for the visuals.

Just comparing the stories it's hard for me to choose a favorite because I think both stories have interesting puzzles.

The new Spiderman has gotten a a lot of mixed reviews. Half In The Bag thought it was awful, Doug Walker thought it was amazing. Which I think sums it up. You either love it or you hate it. Though I do think they're rebooting these franchises too far quickly. Classic Hollywood execs playing it safe by recycling established franchises ad nauseum.
They only did it because they didn't want to lose the rights. A Marvel-made Spidey movie would have been interesting to see!

It's quite funny that, Marvel Studios (film) cannot acquire the rights to produce a motion picture of a comic book property that it's parent, Marvel Entertainment, prints.

Damn you Sony. Give it up already.
We could probably have a decent re-reboot in the hands of Marvel.

*shrugs* I liked the new spiderman apart from the villain. Everything else I thought was an improvement over the other one.

Same with the X-Men
