Just put together my first Weber grill

Even though you did pay a lot of $$ you chose wisely, you will never need purchase another grill, Weber burners are the best ever invented, you will on occasion have to replace the "flavorizer" bars and cooking grates but that's about all and those are considered "wear" items/ Even my bottom-end Genesis cooks like a champ, year-in, year-out.
 
Thanks AT, now I need a new gas grill. I'm mainly charcoal but my old gas grill is going to cost too much to fix so I may as well get a new one. Have a natural gas line sitting there ready to use.

What about infrared? Gimmic or read deal? I would want to have a rotisserie as well.

Most grills are rotisserie-ready meaning that the mounting holes are already drilled for a 10 minute installation, you will though, probably have to purchase the rotisserie as an add-on but it's worth it IMO as the chicken or turkey self-bastes itself while cooking and also it comes out cooked very evenly and juicy.
 
Nope. Its the E-330 with stainless steel guts. Or the S-330 without stainless steel exterior. You can get it in LP or NG versions like all the rest.

Yea I just dropped 20% down on a new house with ss appliances, bought a ss fridge, washer and dryer for another 4.5k, among a bunch of other stuff. Few extra dollars for the matching ss grill was trivial lol.

And damn the burgers I just made were up there with the best I've had anywhere.

Nice grill OP. Have the stainless one myself. Didn't even know they made a smoker box for it. I have a kamado grill I use as my smoker. Holds the heat incredibly well and uses hardly any fuel.
The smoker box is $90 on Amazon, you just have to make sure you order the one for your specific model year since the Genesis line was redesigned in 2011...and thanks for the recipe, might have to give it a try
 
For that price I would have bought every one they had😀

Was poor at the time. I wasn't actually able to afford that one. I begged a family member to send me a wire transfer at the time. Paid it back at least, but no way I could have bought more of them. They only had 3 left if I recall though. Was at a Houston HEB I ran into them.
 
Wish I had natural gas and didn't have to keep tanks filled up:\

If you take a fine drill bit to the brass nozzles leading into the flame tubes you can convert to NG. I did it to my weber. Its really easy to do, you just have to figure out the size hole you need for the BTU your burner is putting out. There are NG to LP conversion charts on hole size if you google.

Yeah but I literally don't have NG service and can't get it🙁

Ahhh I thought you meant you they didn't have the NG version. (They're much harder to find in stock). Still if you ever do get NG service, its an easy conversion.

Also have a SMOKEY MOUNTAIN COOKER™ SMOKER 18.5". If you plan on doing a lot of smoking, you should get one of these as well. 😀
 
On the subject of smokers/grill, would it be worth it to get like a 200 dollar smoker for the summer to practice with at first and than move on to a good one?

I probably will only use it 3-4 times a year but I do like my smoked meats.

I don't think so, but I had a shitty CharBroil one that could not hold temperature.

You can't go wrong with the Weber Smokey Mountain Cookers, but they are a bit pricey.

Yeah not sure that I'll use the sear station but having another burner isn't exactly useless...but in any case I picked this model to have the side burner, I fry things sometimes but hate stinking up the house, doing it on the grill keeps that from happening

As for smoking I will probably only do it a couple times a year, which is why I wanted some sort of combo, the smoker box for this grill I'm hoping will work out for my needs...if not I'll be picking up a real one
 
I have the Weber standard 18" charcoal grill. I grill a lot and abuse the hell out of it. Still going strong after 3 years. Used it as a smoker once. Worked well. Plan on smoking some more ribs this Summer.

I thought the "sear station" was useless because it has no flow control, it's just on 100%. I understand the concept behind it, but it just seemed like a waste to me. I can get meat plenty seared over one of the main burners.

It is kind of interesting that the discontinued the Genesis 320 models though. :hmm:

While I haven't used it yet there is a knob for it, so it should have some flow control...I'll have to check tonight when I use it for the first time to grill up some ribeyes😀

And they still make the E-320, it's just called the Spirit now...and there's a Genesis E-310 too which is the same as the 330 just no sear station or side burner
