Not a bad price for it; I got essentially the same thing (100gb 7200rpm and 1gb ram) through my school. The one thing that bugs me is how sucky the graphics card is; I can almost compare it to an Nvidia 5200 which came out god knows how many years ago. Anyway, with a 3 year warranty it would have been $2000 except that they gave me a scholarship for it.

RMA, having a single dead pixel IMO is unexcuseable especially for a laptop that is that expensive.

It was only when LCDs started becoming mainstream and cheap did manufacturers decide that having a few dead pixels was 'acceptable'. I've encountered many computers with LCD screens and it was only recently did I see a 'dead pixel' as being acceptable.

IMO it isn't and I'd get it repaired, just no excuse whatsoever.
