Just had a $15 dollar burger. Now exploding from bulk beef.

The center of that burger looks like it isn't cooked at all. No thank you.

This statement is not entirely true. Sure, it's harder to get something to it's ideal temperate than it is to burn the hell out of it, but that doesn't mean that it's always harder to cook something less than it is to cook it more. This burger is a perfect example. It's much easier to brown something on both sides and call it done than it is to cook it so that the meat is done evenly all the way through.

This burger is a perfect example.

It's much harder to brown both the sides and leave the center deliciously raw, but not rare

What is it about the concept of time that you don't understand?

nothing, what is it about time that you don't understand?

As long as the Beef is fresh ground from a steak or roast, Pink/Red burgers are fine. I'd be wanting factory ground to be thoroughly cooked though.

If I want burger I go to a great local burger joint. Place is as old as I am. When I go to a steakhouse, I order a steak.

Yeah I'm just the local burger joint is just as good

(unless your local burger joint is Golden State or Taylor's Automatic)

Burgers from burger joints are entirely different than getting a burger at a good steakhouse.

Whatever makes you happy I guess.

There are some restaurants that server burgers that use diced meat and not ground meat. It falls apart more easily but it is pretty good.

So Mr. Ns1, I decided to have a fancy-ass, MR burger at lunch this past weekend. It tasted pretty good, but it was not a burger; it essentially tasted like a very flavourful tartare. Lots of great falvours, but definitelynot a burger.

middle looks too rare and outside doesn't look charred enough.

you got the tartare part right but you're missing the epic char to make it a burger IMHO (just going by what I see in the pics)

I'm more interested in those fries you got there...

The fries were actually quite good and I'm not much of a fry guy.

Oh yeah, sorry, the middle is a stuffing of shortrib meat and foie gras. The pic kind of sucks, so it just looks like rare beef, but that's the stuffing

The top and bottom was seared pretty well, but yeah, not charred like you said.

Ever since I first ate at Bulldogs Grill in Wauconda, all other burgers just taste a bit lame.

Their Double D is a magnificent snack, best served with chilli cheese fries, a bigass shake, and a cold beer.

Last weekend they had an Elk burger special. My uncle had it, it was damn good, but, not as good as the double d.

My cousin had their hangover burger, it looked damn good, but I was damn hungry and a little 1/2 pounder would have left me hungry for more!
