A big thank you to all those on here who convinced me not to go with the Acer, despite however rude and insulting you may have been!
This is a *sweet* computer. For those who don't remember the specs, here they are.
Mini Review:
Screen: The screen is ridiculously superb. I recommend the truelife(tm) screen - it is so incredibly sharp and amazing. Its really that good.
Speed:Its blindingly fast. The duo-core is great, though I doubt that my awe of the computer has anything to do with the dual core, but the fact that its been the first computer I've ever used equipped with 2gb of ram. Though I know nothing of the duo-core architecture and purchased it only because it is "the next big thing", I have sneaking suspicions that the architecture is not even being made use of with this setup
Build: Coming from a Thinkpad, the build worries me a bit. And only 'a bit' because this laptop is not going to be portable - I purchased this as a desktop replacement, and nothing more. Had I bought this to take around, I'd be sh*t-scared of it breaking. It's obvious why IBM are as coveted as they are for their build quality - there is no creaking and flimsy feeling with them. The Dell has an inexplicable, flimsy feeling to it despite looking so sturdy. But maybe its because I've only had IBM's till now.
Keyboard: Considering the size of this monster, I consider the inclusion of a "laptop" keyboard to be an unacceptable decision. There is *easily* enough room for a full-sized keyboard. If Acer was able to include a numeric keypad with a desktop-sized keyboard, so should have Dell. A big con, in my book.
