I think they officially term it a "performance-based" bonus. Dunno why it appears when it does; I guess it takes them that long to process the evals from the previous year and cut checks to those who qualify for the bonus. I get a yearly bonus that works out to about 2/3 of one normal paycheck. Of course, this being the government we're talking about, they wait until late March to give it to you instead of Christmas when you actually need the money.
Um.... so I get a St. Patricks Day bonus then? 😕
