Megatomic, for whatever little it may mean - my prayers are with you and your wife.
I quote you specifically, but this is for everyone: it means a lot to me and my wife that you all care and pray or wish positive thoughts for her to not have cancer and to be relieved of pain. I can't thank you guys enough.

I really wish his wife the best and all but you are going overboard here missy. Take the Cancer upon yourself?
Why do people like you push it? You know the situation, and feel so righteous by praying God and lying? Shes not DEAD numbnut!!!!!!!!!!!

I really hope people reading this know that I'm truthful in this and not just an ass.

Megatomic --- My wife had Cancer at 25 when I met her. Her boyfriend at the time left her. I met her through a friend............. While I was with her, she pulled through and has been free of it for over 13 years.
I hope the best for you. Just stay with her ALWAYS!

My optimism is starting to wane now.

If I could offer you one piece of advice, don't let your optimism wane. And if you do, don't let your wife know that. She needs you now more than ever and you need to be there to help her fight this. Be positive and help her find the strength to beat this.

Best of luck to you and to her. You have my best wishes.

i'm not particularly religious or in to praying, but this is the second time today that i've said a prayer. have faith and be optimistic, that is all you have to stay sane in such trying times.

Update 4: Just got back from the surgical consult. The surgeon showed us a tumor on the tail end of her pancreas that is almost perfectly round and the size of a racquetball. The good news is that it is more than likely not malignant and definitely not the sort of tumor that would be worst case as she'd already be dead. The bad news is that he is unqualified to do the operation and referred us to another physician in Fort Worth who is eminently qualified to do this work.

A possible outcome of the surgery is that she'll lose her spleen due to the location of the tumor. But vaccinations will nullify any negative impact that might impose.

We get to see the next doctor on Thursday at 3:30, I'll update again then. Thanks for the prayers and well wishes everyone!

I'm a lot of things but I'm not a liar. I'm 51 yrs old,my children are raised, I've had my chance at life. If I could spare this young woman her suffering I'd do so in an instant.

Btw, I'm not religious and am not rightous in the slightest. Reading about this kind of suffering bothers me deeply... and makes me question the order of the universe.

Hmmm...sounds like a mixed review, but the news being more good than bad. She'll still have to have surgery and possibly lose her spleen...(bad things) but it's most likely not cancerous...(VERY GOOD thing.)

Dude, while (knock on wood) I've never had to deal with anything similar to this with my wife, (other than a "mild" bout of cervical cancer 25 years ago) My wife and I have been through similar things with our parents. (all of whom have long since passed) YOU have to keep up your optimism and NEVER let her see you depressed about it. She needs to maintain as high a level of optimism as possible to get through this with her head intact, (and in worse case scenarios) to even survive all of this. Depression can be "a real downer" on the immune system, and she needs all the help there she can get.

Best wishes to you both. I hope the surgeon in FW offers a good prognosis.

!!! It's not malignant! That's the best news possible given the circumstances. Best of luck! Asplenic patients definitely have to be a lot more careful but it sure beats pancreatic cancer. Best of luck.

Just read through all the updates... while I don't think you can call any of this 'good' it sounds like there may be a light at the end of the tunnel. I wish her all the best!
