So, I just saw an early screening of the village! It was really good IMO. It has soooo many less plot holes than Signs did. Also, water it not an integral part of this movie! I don't want to post any spoilers, because it will really ruin the movie if you know what happens...

SPOILERS BELOW!! Do not scroll down if you are going to see this movie!

just put spoilers in the title and put them in the thread. i dont want to waste money on this movie.

No, it's not the sequel to Signs. I'm just comparing this film to his last film.

Jesus christ, does ANYONE speak English anymore? Reading Off Topic is becoming nearly impossible, anymore. :frown: I find myself having to back several times to read the same phrase over and over because it makes NO sense...

If you guys really want Spoilers, I guess I can put them in here and change the title of this thread 😕

I don't remember Signs having plot holes. I own the movie and I've seen it dozens of times. Maybe I'm just dumb?

its obviously intentional and you missed half of it

I call them plot holes, I don't know what other people call them. They have been discussed many times. Such as:

1)Why you can lock an alien in a closet, and it can't bust out, yet it can jump on a house.
2)Why you can kick and alien's butt with a baseball bat.
3)If water is poison to aliens, why are they attacking the earth
4)Look for old signs threads to find more.

I enjoyed the Sixth Sense, but I was disappointed in the ending of Signs. Looking forward to The Village! Thanks for the quick review.

SPOILERS!!

So, the movie is about a group of people from the 1970s(?) who had lost people in their lives. They all got together and decided to create their own little utopian society in the woods. I assume they had kids, and raised them like it was the 1800s(?). No electricity, no modern medicine, no modern anything. They tell them that there are monsters in the woods if they leave the village, so no one leaves because they think monsters exist out there. That's it.

Your posts are annoying to read with the text above the quote.

Anyway, who cares about all that? You assume that the alien's body is identical to the human's, reacting the same way to different substances. If water can melt away their flesh like acid does to ours, maybe they have some weird reaction to wood (door/bat). You guys need to unlock your imagination and try explaining the things that movies do not. You'll actually enjoy movies that way.

I'll post down here, are you happy? Anyways, I did enjoy Signs... It was just that after the movie was over, I thought it over and noticed there were some things that seemed very illogical to me.

hypocrite

My wireless keyboard sometimes gets interference from the cable modem that's four inches away. If I set the cable modem on top of the keyboard, I get no keyboard response at all. But, with the current desk I have, this is my only option for the time being. Sometimes random characters appear as I'm typing -like the alt-number characters and crap. I find myself having to pull my keyboard back every few hours to it's original position, away from the cable modem. The little rubber stoppers on the bottom have worn off.

I'm not a hypocrite you knuckle dragging mouth breather.

according to the laws of aerodynamics bumble bees shouldn't be able to fly.

there are so many inconsistencies and illogical occurrences in real life, your expectations of the movie are unreasonable.

goddamn that is dumb. actually I thought it was gonna be about a bunch of tiny people living in a model railroad town. they were afraid of the boy and the father who built the town. at least in my version you could have cool scenes where the kid catches some of the people and feeds them to his cat and fries them with a magnifying glass and stuff.

btw from your description the movie seems to be about the Amish.
