Monsters are only people in the movie. They have monster suits. Also, I guess the people who created the utopian society made a rule that red is a bad color. So nothing in the town is red because it's bad luck and will attract the monsters.

I do have a few questions about the movie myself.

-When sounds are made in the forest, how are they made? Does someone have a remote control or something that triggers animal howling sounds?

-What kept making all the ruckus in the woods? First time was when that kid was playing the game on the stump? Was that an elder? Second time was when Joaquin was in the woods in his yellow suit, he heard sounds and stuff. What was that?

Why are people wearing monster suits? Is it because they made a pact with village elders to scare up the exploring youngins ?

don't know why - they never explained. maybe to hide the fact that they were human-sized?

also, the whole scam is revealed because someone is mortally wounded, and the only chance that they have is to get medicine (which, obviously, the village does not have). so the daughter of the head guy, who is in love with the mortally wounded (and blind to boot!), decides that she wants to go to "town" to get the medicine. when she comes to the end of the gravel road, she finds a wall there so she climbs it. on the other side of the wall is a paved street, located inside a wildlife preserve.

My wireless keyboard sometimes gets interference from the cable modem that's four inches away. If I set the cable modem on top of the keyboard, I get no keyboard response at all. But, with the current desk I have, this is my only option for the time being. Sometimes random characters appear as I'm typing -like the alt-number characters and crap. I find myself having to pull my keyboard back every few hours to it's original position, away from the cable modem. The little rubber stoppers on the bottom have worn off.

i thought it was average...i saw it tonight and kinda guessed it about halfway through, although i didnt guess the wildlife preserve, i couldnt believe what i was thinking was right because i was sure planes would fly over or something...

I saw it tonight as well and thought it was awesome. Hated Signs but never saw this coming. I guessed some of the smaller plot twists along the way but never the grand one and it all clicked when I saw the trooper pull up with "WALKER" on his Land Rover

I loved it, highly recommended!
