My alarm clock wakes me up, while my wristwatch offers portability. My stereo and TV are hooked up to one of my PCs, so I have no redundancy there. Cell phone cameras are terrible, and portable music players offer something you can't do with even the smallest computers - music in my pocket.Do you own an alarm clock? Wrist watch? Stereo? TV? Cell phone? iPod? Camera? You could use your computer for all that stuff, but specialized devices can be cheaper as well as more effective specifically because they are designed for niche roles. Similarly, you will not be able to build a gaming PC system for the same price as a PS3 and have the games look just as good.
I'm assuming that ecological bit was supposed to be funny, but as an aside there are few serious gaming PCs with power consumption below that of a PS3 or 360, let alone the miniscule power draw of the Wii.
You're agreeing with me, so why are you telling me what I said is absurd?I bought my first Xbox mainly because of sports games. It was a good thing I did that, as sports games have virtually disappeared on the PC. I got a PS3 because 1) I wanted a BR player 2) Exclusives: GoW Collection, GoW 3, and MLB 2k10.
Your bolded statement is absurd. Each of the manufacturers are independent companies, complete with their own development houses or exclusive contracts with companies to produce games for their consoles. Besides that, the PC also has exclusives that the consoles are locked out of as well.

None of your examples mirror the absurd redundancy of a console.
The ecological bit was about manufacturing, transporting and disposal of consoles. Not sure if you realize how much technological garbage there is out there, but it's a real problem. And the last thing we need adding to it is redundancy of systems.

My cellphone has an alarm clock.
I can't sit at my couch and game on my computer, have friends over and game on my computer together. Ecological? lmao. We don't need 99% of the shit we have. Your argument is terrible. Why don't we dumb down computers instead, since most people only use it for word processing and internet. Then we'd get rid of the waste of people who upgrade their computers every year to the biggest and best!!! I can now keep my console.

You can sit at your couch and game at your computer. I do. You do realize a TV is a monitor with a few minor alterations? The reason PC games aren't multiplayer is because the console nazis have so much of a stranglehold on the industry. And people like you keep feeding them money.
What a disgusting attitude about a real problem. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electronic_waste

"No, and never going to."
I already have a computer. It's absurd to tell me "well, if you want to play this game, you have to buy a second computer... same thing, but we need money, tough shit. Btw, this other computer doesn't do any of the things it's capable of other than game. Would you like some lube with that?"
It's ecologically irresponsible as well.
Just purchased a PS3 , #1 reason is sports games....

my reason was Blu Ray but grats on it.
I love these threads as well. people get so angry defending themselves on why they didn't buy something. Just because you consider yourself a PC gamer doesn't mean that if you own a console you are going to burst into flames. Fun games exist on all platforms. IMO excluding yourself from 1 or the other is only limiting your potential gaming enjoyment because you are missing out
I played the Wii once and friends house. Didn't care much for it.
Consoles are boring, the controls are terrible, and its pretty much the reason games have been dumbed down for PC.
