I almost contemplated running the furnace today. It warmed up enough outside that I didn't have to but did run a small electric heater off solar. At least at this time of year the sun is still out. Made it close to 20. 10C now that it's night time.

School just started today, so that's basically what I tend to consider the official end of summer.

Blow me with your 10C talk! :tearsofjoy:

We got to 38.3C today a couple of days after a cold front. 30 days in our average high for August 2023 has been 39.5C (=103.1F)

Our previous hottest ever recorded in San Antonio was July 2022, which averaged a high of 38.7C (=101.7F).

JFC 100 degrees again in this never ending summer in San Antonio. We already set the record for most days of 100+ a week ago at 59 and now we're padding it out to 66 today. With the ten day forecast all 100s looks like we'll have no problem pushing to 75 and giving us half a month more 100s than San Antonio has ever had.

We're actually getting hot weather again here. 25C and tomorrow suppose to be 27C. Got the A/C going. It seems just a few days ago I was contemplating using the furnace. This time of year is weird like that. Even for the AC I will try to not over use it because I know a few days later I'll then find the house too cold.

IIRC, Red lives in northern Ontario - so yeah, his tolerance for hot is well below yours. Of course, pretty sure you’d be damn unhappy over an outdoor temp of -20 C.

Daughter and SIL who live in San Antonio just escaped for a bit from the heat there. They're on an Alaskan cruise. I wish them lots of cool.

Oh man that sounds brutal. I rarely see it get that hot in the house, except my office does get kind of warm and does hit 25 sometimes. That's when I decide to put the AC on. Rest of house temps:

Living Room: 21.1°C (-)
Hallway: 22.7°C (=)
Server Room: 22.4°C (=)
HVAC Return: 19.5°C (-)
HVAC Supply: 10.1°C (=)
Outside: 25.3°C (-)
Delta Temp: -9.4°C

Dude...don't blame me because you're not smart enough to not live in Tex-Ass... :p
San Antonio used to be nice until the state GOP started acting like a colonial power to the cities of Texas. If I make an exit I'd probably rather go all the way and get out of shithole America and not just shithole Texas tbh.

29C right now. We're actually under a heat warning. Not something we see often at this time of year.

Ugh 29C won't be a normal high for us until late October. Yet another 38C = 100F day in this never ending summer in San Antonio. Same shit, different day. At least it's not 40.5C = 105F every day any more I guess.

The rain pretty much skipped us. A few sprinkles...just enough to wet the windshield for a few minutes. Maybe a bit on Wednesday.

I picked up a free window shaker earlier this year for the bedroom. The mini splits were just not cutting it for getting to sleep.
Today is the day it can come out of the window and we get our screened window back. The forecast is topping out in the low 70's here on out
