been cold in the mornings here. Hit single digits last night. Didn't even break 20C for the day.

Looking at mid 20C for the rest of the week.

Smokey in the Bay Area - It's September which means forest fires!

View attachment 85988

-Yap it's gawd damn fire season.

Smoke came in fast today too, morning and early afternoon I got the faint whiff of smoke in the air but I just consider that the smell of fall, but by 4 or 5 it has settled in like a thick fog.

Kids will fondly look back on "smoke" days like kids back east think of snow days: just stay inside and vegge, crazy old man isn't going to drag them out on hikes with this air quality.

Calling for 85 today, which is too high. But thing is this time of year, that's only for a couple of hours mid-afternoon. Most of the day isn't too bad. and the nights fall into the 50s usually. Easy to cool the house at night and keep it cool during the day, so no AC.

Yeah was a bit smokey earlier, though not too bad. In general I didn't really notice it for the most part. Maybe once it smelled a bit strong. It is pretty nice out today, nice and relatively cool. 71F right now at 2:45 in the afternoon.

I can't even fathom what 41C would feel like, that's brutal. 30C is bad enough and we got lot of those this summer. Pretty much instantly start to sweat minute you open the door to go outside.

Ugh and our low is supposed to average around 67F = 19C this time of year. I'd be surprised if we even got down to 77F = 25C overnight.

Ugh...that's miserable. I remember a few 5imes when we were in NorCal and it would get around 110F and only cool into the upper 70s and low 80s at night.
We're down into the low 50s...and upper 40s at night now.

Every single time they forecast rain in San Antonio all we get is heat instead. Supposed to get an inch and a half of rain about a week ago, got absolute zero. Supposed to get an inch of rain over yesterday and tonight, got a tiny bit of drizzle last night that made the pizza box I set out for the trash slightly damp and we've got nothing for today as the daytime heating dies off.

JFC high today so far is 97F with a 104F heat index (36/40C), low this morning was 77 (25C). If we don't get rain tonight I don't know WTF to say because it's wildly humid right now and we have a front coming overnight that's supposed to drop us 10-25 degrees in the next few days. We haven't had good rain since early June and my yard isn't even dirt any more, it's just fine dust after two years straight of being in exceptional drought.
