San Antonio's streak of 15 straight 100 degree days (second longest ever recorded here) just ended with the airport only hitting 99 before some rain came in at 1:30PM, though my neighborhood got to 101 before the rain. Thank freaking god as 101 at 1:30 usually means 105+ by 4:00PM. What really sucks is we'll probably get another 15 days of 100+ starting tomorrow based on the forecast.

Kind of dried out since June here in Texas. Currently in a sunny weather pattern with low humidity (30%s) for a change. Feels good. I'd like to see some rain. Grass is starting to fade.

Looks like we're stuck in a rut for the foreseeable future. Supposed to be some triple digits coming up, but I'll believe it when I see it. Wouldn't be unusual. Bound to happen once a year.

With one day left in July we're on pace to have the second hottest July ever recorded in San Antonio, second only to July last year which tied August 2011 for the hottest month ever recorded in San Antonio.

Ugh summer sucking fucks. Also at our 34th day of 100+ this year, which is 7th most recorded for a year here. The rankings go:

2. 58 days in 2022
3. 57 days in 2011
4. 41 days in 2013
5. 36 days in 2020
5. 36 days in 1998
7. 34 days and counting in 2023 as of July 30th

Ugh all 103 and 104 in that seven day forecast FML. Hard to see us not in the mid to high 50s and challenging our alltime record given August is by far our hottest month here usually.

Since that heat dome or whatever it was fucked off, it has been a typical Florida summer. Heavy bag session yesterday evening was nice. There was an ocean breeze, but not really. There are only tiny little slivers of barrier island between me and the Atlantic.

Meanwhile in an El Nino year which is supposed to be cooler for Texas, we're currently the year with the fifth most days of 100+ ever recorded in San Antonio only four days into the hottest month of the year after having our hottest summer ever recorded here last year when everyone was blaming La Nina for it. Meanwhile here is the current forecast for my area FML, where historical average is 96-97 for these dates:

I wish the heat dome would fuck off from us. We have had the same one over us since like July 8th and it's not going anywhere until maybe the 16th or 17th of this month at the earliest. I would say it's not normal to have six week heat domes but there is no fucking normal any more with global warming.

106F currently. It dried out for a few days though the chance of rain increases in a couple days. So far, the monsoons have been a bust. There have been a few strong, very isolated storms that made more headlines than rain. If this continues, we're right back into extreme drought.
