July 11th: ATOT Cedar Point Meet - Update #3

whoo hoo, we got stickied!

I see no problem with the 11th, so everything should still be fine for me. I still have to buy my ticket, but I'll do that in the next 2 weeks. I'm all up for exchanging cell phones, but I can see how people would feel weird about that. I'll be eating there as I don't think I'll be packing a bag...and after all, what is Cedar Point with nice and greasy plate of chili cheese fries? 😀

And seeing as how I just got in on that new webhosting offer, i have plenty of space to set up a board for us to talk about this privately...as I'm sure others here can do as well. Let me know if this is needed, whether to discuss plans, exchange numbers or set up rides. I'll be heading down early in the morning, I imagine, since I don't have hotel reservations...so anybody good to depart metro Detroit at 6:30AM should PM me.
 
Well I PM a few people trying to help organize some things and we are now down to 20 people planning on coming. They?re a couple of members still looking for some help.

Evil Yoda is looking for someone in the Detroit Metro Area to carpool with him.

Marauder911 is looking for someone to share a hotel room with for one night.
 
If anyone can either room with me, or act as my guardian, that would be great. I still haven't finalized anything because all the major hotels that are decent require you to be 21 or older, or accompanied by a parent or guardian. As it is right now, I am planning on flying out there saturday (if I can get a ticket), and staying for sunday. If I can get a flight saturday morning, I would do that too, and go to the park for two days. If anyone is interested in sharing a room/acting as a guardian, please let me know as soon as possible so I can try and get airline tickets, and then get a room.

EDIT: If someone is going from the NYC/NYC suburb area, I would be willing to go by car, and pay for fuel. Someone let me know, cause I really want to go.
 
I'd love to have gone, but our family vacation is leading us in the opposite direction that day.

To be fair, there are several people on that list that never confirmed they could make it - only that they would like to, but no guarantees.

Anyone have a carpool going from the NYC area? I hate to do this to Quixfire, but if I cant find a way to get there, I dont think I can make it. All the airfares are disgustingly expensive (reed 1k or more), and amtrak is like a 15 hour train ride, and that would negate the need for a hotel, and I dont want to be on a train for 15 hours.

Don't feel bad if you can't make it to Cedar Point. I can understand it quite a drive for you. Last week I PM the two people I knew lived near to see if they were coming and they both told me their not. Did you get my PM on the hotel issue?

i forgot to plan for this... i was in new york all weekend, i'll ask my bf if he wants to go..

i think it's cool that you're going to cedar point cuz even if it ends up just a few people, you will still have a blast! great idea!!
 
Well we're going to try to nail down a headcount and who's-who of who's going...I'll drive down on my own if need be, but I'd much rather have someone to share the ride down with, from metro Detroit.

We are quickly approaching the date for the meet and I still don?t have an accurate count on how many people are going to show up. The schedule of events, as small as it is, is on the first page and if there are any changes I would like to complete them in the next two days. They are a few members with needs in order to come to the event listed on the first page next to their name.

Please post you are still planning on coming and if you need any help to get to the park.

bad timing for me. drive carefully, guys!

(and don't forget the sunblock. waiting in line for 60-90 minutes + UV rays = bad news)
